Pet care experience
I lost my soul mate, Bailey, on October 18th, 2019. I rescued Bailey from Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England 7 years ago after losing two other rescued cocker spaniels from the local pound within a month from each other. I was devastated and Bailey rescued me! Losing Bailey, who truly was a one of a kind, reminded me of how deafeningly quiet my house is again without him there, as I have no other pets in my house. I felt something good needed to come of Bailey’s passing. As a result, I decided to honor Bailey’s memory by giving all proceeds I make through Rover for pet care services to animal rescues/shelters to help more dogs in desperate need of care! So...bring on the requests...there are many, many, many animals that need our help! I have volunteered at local animal shelters/rescues and participate in fundraising activities during the year to support these organizations. Throughout the years, I have rescued and cared for several animals with emotional, behavioral and medical issues who had become integral members of my family. I have been a Registered Nurse for 13 years, can handle day to day routines and any emergencies that may arise to provide the best overall care for your pet. I will treat your pet like it is a family member of mine while you are away! I will be the only person caring for your pet so it will get one on one individualized care. Your family member will be in good hands while you are away reducing your stress and anxiety. I know how important that is as a pet owner! I only provide care to one pet at a time in my home unless the pets are within the same family (ie. siblings). Regular updates will be provided via electronic means agreed upon (ie. text, emails, fb msgr). I am really excited to join you in this journey and look forward to working with you and your furry family member! Let’s save lives together!
Reviews
My senior dog clearly had a lovely time with Michelle and seemed to feel right at home. Buttercup is a little too rickety these days for the hubbub at the kennel we used to use, and Michelle's peaceful home was just the ticket. Michelle was wonderful and it's easy to see why she's a very popular dog sitter!
The second our dog Bella and I visited MIchelle to see if it was a match, I could tell immediately that it was! And, selfishly, I almost don't want to write this review as I don't want Michelle to book up when we need her!! Michelle clearly LOVES dogs and has her home set up perfectly to care for one - crate, toys, everything. Michelle was flexible with taking our Bella from drop off and pick up times to accommodating our last minute decision to stay on vacation for one extra day. I could tell that Bella was well cared for during her week with Michelle, who provided daily pictures of her (the kids loved seeing these). I have already asked if she would take Bella again!
Michelle was wonderful! Our dog was so happy there and we were happy to know she was in the best hands! We received lots of updates and pictures throughout her stay :)
Michelle was wonderful with Mia. She had a great time, and was well taken care of. Her house is very well equipped to take care of your fur baby!

Information Michelle R. would like to know about your pet
Is the dog house trained? If so, how often does your pet go outside on average? What is the longest can they be inside before having an accident? Are they puppy pad trained? Any medical issues (ie. Food/environmental allergies, diabetes, kidney failure, etc.)?
A typical day
We will go to the local park or play area to play ball, frisbee, or just for some good sniffs! We will play treat games - I will provide the game and you provide their favorite treat - to keep your pet intellectually engaged in play. We will go for car rides to get Puppacino’s at Starbuck’s or dog bisquits at the bank.
