What's a synonym for love? Dogs!

Pet care experience

A part of growing up is learning emotions like love. Dogs are one of the first I have ever known to love. All I wanted to do since I was a kid was to work with animals. Working with animals is the one of most rewarding things in this world. I came to this conclusion because of Bridget. Growing up in an apartment that do not allow dogs left me feeling empty because all I ever wanted was a dog. The first dog I have ever met when I was a kid was a bichon frise named Bridget. Bridget was my cousin's dog. My cousin and her family lived far away so when my family and I would visit them, I was always so excited to see Bridget. When you look at Bridget, she was a beautiful white dog with beautiful brown eyes who you'd fall in love with because she was so sweet, kind, and gentle. Whenever I got the chance to spend time with Bridget, I would always go on walks with Bridget, give her treats and belly rubs, play catch, run around with her in the yard, give her a bath, fill up her food and water, play tug of war and pet her until my hand would cramp. Doing these activities meant the world to me because it was like if Bridget was my dog, even if that meant for a little bit. Doing these things for Bridget made me the happiest kid. Doing these things taught me love and compassion at a young age. I miss you Bridget. You were my childhood dog. I will always treat your dog like how I treated Bridget. Every pet deserves love and compassion no matter what. Your pet deserves that. My experience with animals range from housesitting for family members to moving to working for a dog and cat boarding facility to getting my first job at an animal hospital. Currently, I am employed as a veterinary assistant with Sage Veterinary Centers for Specialty and Emergency Care. Previously, I worked for VCA Animal Hospitals. As an Employee at Sage and VCA animal hospitals: I assist Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Techinicans by performing numerous duties such as walking patients, animal restraint, acquiring histories from pet owners, acquiring vitals, venipunture, cystocentesis, intravenous catheter placement, administering oral, subcetaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications. Previously I was a Pet handler with The Pawington located in South San Francisco. The Pawington is a dog and cat hotel that offers boarding, day care, and grooming. As a pet handler: I facilitate small dog day groups, daily room service for boarding dogs and cats, clean and sanitize groups and suites after a client has checked out, assess clients if they are able to board in house such as checking for any injuries, ticks, and fleas, take out day stays for private time in a yard and potty walks, pass out and collect food bowls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Currently, I am a student with Pen Foster College enrolled in their Veterinary Technician Bachelor’s degree. After I finish school, I will be sitting for the Veterinary Techinician National Exam to earn my Registered Veterinary Technician License.
