First I like to know what the owners routine is for their pet and their preferences for their animals (allowed on furniture etc.). I like to know if a dog/cat is neutered/spayed, in heat, has any allergies/special diets, potty trained, crate trained, and what commands (especially safety) the dog goes by. I love training and reinforcing training, teaching fun new tricks, and keeping dogs mind sharp with exercise. It is appreciated if their are contact lists provided in case of emergencies.

While walking, sitting, or dropping in I like to keep it based on the dogs needs (i.e. anxious dog might need familiar area versus puppies need new experiences). With boarding or sitting I’ll really go all out going on longer walks or to parks that we can hike (staying away from other dogs). Of course training and challenging the dogs mind is a big activity I like to do as well.
