Michelle did a wonderful job taking care of our dog Claudina. We were really nervous about leaving Claudina because she gets really upset when we go on trips without her, but Michelle made her feel very comfortable. Michelle sent us plenty of updates/videos/pictures, and we were very glad to see that Claudina was having a great time. Michelle also followed our care instructions very well. Both my parents have experience with pets and we all take part in caring for the furbabies in our home. We have a large backyard that is fully fenced and we also live 5 minutes away from Seth Low Park. We also live driving distance from a dog park (Dyker Heights), so with permission I would love to take your pet there as well! I can assure you that your pet will receive all the cuddles and care they need with me. I’ve looked after dogs of family members and friends and I will always send them pictures and videos to update them throughout the day — so I can assure you I will do the same for you! I have more experience with small and medium sized dogs, but I have handled big dogs before. I have experience cat-sitting and allowed them to roam around my house freely with a designated room for their litter box.

A typical day
I will provide all my attention and love for your pet! As a previous dog owner I really do miss the joy of having a pet around the house so I will ensure that your pet gets an adequate amount of physical activity (in our big backyard!) and lots of fetches and belly rubs! We have a park 5 minutes away and a dog park thats around 15 minutes driving. In addition, I would also love to travel with your pet beside me if I go out for errands or walks around Brooklyn/Manhattan (only if you are okay with it!). If your pup is young I would also teach them tricks!

Availability
I am currently a graduate student on summer break and working from home. Both my parents are retired so they are also home all the time — trust that your furbabies will never be alone or lonely! I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and I’ve taken care of pets since I was 8 years old. Throughout my childhood I have had pets ranging from reptiles, to fish, to hamsters, and I also grew up surrounded by family member’s dogs! I have volunteered as a dog walker at Sean Casey Animal Rescue and socialized/walked dogs during my free time. I also had the greatest time working at Paws in Paradise, a Doggy Daycare Center in Park Slope, caring after dogs from a variety of breeds and ages! I had my own dog when I was 8 years old and she was my best friend, raising her when she was just a puppy up until 12 years old. I learned the most about unconditional love and companionship from her and it was the best moments in my life raising her.
