Full-time Rover Animal Lover

Pet care experience

Growing up I had a mixed breed dog, a lab, and a pure bread German shepherd. My German Shepherd was my sidekick. I took her hiking, walks on the beach, and for many car rides. We also had 12 rabbits growing up and it was fun caring for them from newborn through their entire life span. I’ve cared my families dogs and cats for extended stays. My dad has an older black lab with diabetes that I administered shots for twice a day. I recently worked at a pet boarding and day care facility where I learned even more about a dogs mentality and how to care for them. I’m capable of giving baths, a quick teeth brushing, defurminating hair/fur, administering medication, changing diapers and working with disabled dogs. I always saw our animals as part of the family. Taking care of them was never a chore- it was part of every day living and breathing. I plan to care for your animals as if they were my own.

Michelle is a wonderful sitter. She does great with my very hyper, anxious rescue pittie. She is so communicative and patient with both me and my pup!

Michelle was super communicative during my trip and made being away from my anxious dog for the first time feel so much better! She was incredibly flexible and accommodating to his and my needs, and treated my dog like he was her own!

Pets who have contagious illnesses/diseases are ineligible for my care. I do not accept pets, or household's with a pet, who have been to a veterinarian's office within 7 days. Information Michelle K. would like to know about your pet

**Your vet information + 1 emergency contact that can vouch for your pet's needs while you are away** 1. What is the temperament of your pet? 2. Does your pet have any kind of anxiety? And what do you do to calm them? i.e: separation anxiety 3. Any medication needed? Either on a schedule or if something specific happens? 4. Do they get aggressive around other animals? 5. Do they try to escape from the household? 6. Are there any behavior's you do not tolerate from them? How do you reprimand your dog? i.e: We do not prefer our dog to eat anything off the floor -> taught her "leave it" -> if something drops we ask her to "leave it" and give a small dog treat to enforce good behavior. 7. What are behavior's you celebrate your dog for? How do you celebrate with them? i.e: I taught my dog how to put her toys in my hand when she wants to play -> I get overly excited, give her (quick) scratches, use her name while I am saying "good job" and, for her sake, throw her ball as fast and far as possible.

A typical day

How I care for your pet is fully dependent on how you would like them to be cared for. I can do typical walks around the block to running with your dog if you'd like. Dog's minds need to be stimulated too so letting them test out smells as we walk is great for them mentally. Basically, whatever you suggest for their care I will do as well as care for them as they are my own.
