Be the person your dog thinks you are.! We are their entire world so make their world the very best. It is actually not that hard to do and do so without breaking the bank! Provide a safe, stable and caring home. Serve them quality food and fresh water. Support stimulation with interaction and calmness with boundaries. And of course, lots of love. With that you are the very best person to a dog. I’ve volunteered with rescue groups to provide all these things to each dog I encounter, foster and visit. Meeting them wherever they are at in their works. If it is de-compressing from being in a shelter, to seniors needing extra patience with alignments, to young puppies just trying to figure it all out. I give them my best and they respond with theirs. I have two rescue dogs (mutts) - Jack and ZuZu. They are middle-aged (like me) and bring me much joy. Finding a good sitter for them was fundamental to my care for them. I was lucky to find people who cared for them as their own and put up with my many texts asking for pictures.
