Where do I even begin! My husband and I made plans to travel home to see my family for Christmas. We were leaving our boys (Great Dane and chocolate lab) for the longest time we have ever left them, so of course we were nervous. We have used kennel/boarding services before and never had any problems, but we wanted something different this time. Our Dane has Addison’s disease, which requires a daily medication and close monitoring. Stress and anxiety also cause problems for him. With this in mind, we really wanted our boys to be able to stay in the comfort of their home. I decided To look into Rover and came across Michelle’s profile. With my husband being active duty and us living on base, I instantly felt comfortable seeing she is also active duty USMC. I reached out to her and she responded immediately! We were so relieved and excited. We set up a meeting for her and the boys and they instantly loved her. The week we left, she even agreed to stop by our house one more time to make sure she was comfortable and for us to go over the boys routine one more time. My husband left detailed printed instructions, which she followed meticulously. She sent pictures every morning and day, letting me know how they were doing and ensuring me they were having a blast with her. The main point of this review was to point out an unexpected emergency that occurred while we were gone. Our neighborhood was evacuated in the middle of the night due to a fire on Christmas Eve. With us being in Florida, of course we were terrified for our animals. As soon as she was able, she immediately got back in touch with me, letting me know she would do whatever was necessary to get my animals out of the house. She worked with me all day, drove to the base and coordinated with the base police to be escorted back to my house to get my animals out safely. She then took my dogs to her house and made sure they were comfortable and happy. She was even prepared to keep my boys over night if necessary. Thankfully, they allowed everyone to return to their homes and my boys were brought back home safely and soundly. To top it off, she even went out of her way to bring them new toys on Christmas morning! I can not say enough good things about our experience with Michelle and will absolutely be asking for her services in the future. Not once did I worry about my boys well being while we were gone, all thanks to Michelle.
