Experienced loving prof. petsitter

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Michelle. I am passionate about pets and treating them with care and respect. My first real job was as a pet sitter when I was only 14. Now, in my early thirties, I am looking to increase my petsitting work (I do around my freelance Marketing/Design work). I grew up with 2 calico cats and a sheltie. My first job was for a busy couple with a terrier, two shorthair cats, and a ferret that I visited every weekday after school. For 7 years while I was attending college, I would often petsit for a family with a dachshund and a tabby when they went on vacation (I also cared for their autistic boy as my part-time job during college). Since then I have continued to petsit for my nearby family, friends, and church members as needed. I have years of experience taking care of dogs and cats, as well as fish, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters and rats. Also, over the last 7 years I have been helping with social media marketing and adoption day events for the Minnesota Humane Society, a small foster-care only organization. I have been told I have a knack with shy and timid pets. I tend to surprise people when they return home to find their shy, often hidden pet socializing well with me. However, I do not work with aggressive dogs and cats (biters) and while I am good at administering oral medication (pills, liquid), I do not give injections. I look forward to hearing from you and hope to spend time with your pet(s)! **Please notice the Rover.com booking rates show incorrectly in some instances, so please inquire about rates if it seems incorrect. For instance multiple cats show incorrectly, two cats are the same cost as one-however that doesn't show this way. I will revise charges once contacted about dates. Also, I am unavailable for everyday visits (every week m-f, etc). Thank you!

Michelle is an awesome pet sitter! She's super responsible and even made an extra visit before our trip to make sure she had our cat's med's down right. We highly recommend her and will definitely schedule again.

We hired Michelle for Drop-In Visits. Michelle provided us with daily Rover cards that reported feedings, litter box cleanings, playing with and loving our beloved cat Piper. Michelle went above and beyond and we will certainly request her again!!!!

Information Michelle D. would like to know about your pet

Meet and Greets can say a lot. Generally, I would like to know age, preference of toys or playing type, if the need a walk daily and instructions for that, if they dislike certain areas petted, if they can have treats, and what sort of discipline you'd like me to follow. I love all breeds and have experience with all ages and sizes! Also, I enjoy and have experience with cats of multiple breeds and no hair to long hair.

A typical day

I love dog walks in any sort of nature. A path, trail, around water, but even around the neighborhood is just wonderful! Even just throwing balls or a frisbee in a fenced yard. It all depends on what the owner wants and what the dog can do (sometimes dependent on age). I love to snuggle with them and greatly enjoy walks, even in winter (as do the dogs). Also, I like cats, too, and playing with feather toys with them or laser lights, or just snuggling!
