Experienced and reliable!

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of fish, cats, dogs, reptiles, rabbits, hamsters, and amphibians for as long as I can remember. I’ve also lived across from a dog shelter my entire life and volunteered there for many years! With volunteering, owning, and taking care of other peoples pets I have a unique mix of experience with all types of behaviors. All of my family and friends come to me with their pets when leaving for vacation because they trust me and know that I’ll genuinely enjoy taking care of them. I am also fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for my clients who are immunocompromised. I’m a retired student-athlete at EMU and I often have many gaps of free time in my day. I also have a lot of free time on the weekends! While I cannot watch cats or dogs in my own home I am experienced with taking care of rodents, fish, amphibians, and reptiles l, and I can provide a safe environment there. In my client’s homes I like to respect their privacy and will only go into designated rooms or spaces I’ve been given permission to. I offer meeting your pet in advance to have them get used to me before I watch them so they won’t be as fearful when you’re not home. I’m very careful with leaving your home cleaner than I found it and making sure the house is properly secured before leaving!

Michelle was absolutely great staying with our pups for 4 nights! She sent messages and photos every day and kept the pups happy while we were gone. She even left a good bye toy, which they love. I'm glad we didn't have to worry about anything and could enjoy our vacation.

Michelle is engaging, personable, and kind as both a person and a pet sitter. Michelle did an excellent job interacting with my cat. She sent many photos and updates, which really helped reassure me while I was away. I will definitely be utilizing Michelle again in the future when I need a sitter.

We hired Michelle to check in on our dog while we were away for a long day. She was flexible, communicative and reliable! We'll definitely be using Michelle for drop-ins and walks in the future.

Michelle was great with our dog who tends to be a bit nervous with new faces. She worked with him at his pace and made herself available for a meet and greet. Can’t thank her enough!

Information Michelle D. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if there’s any special needs or behavioral issues that need addressing. This includes: medical problems, any suspected injury, if dog or human reactive, if they show aggression around a certain age and/or sex of people (especially infants/kids), if they lunge on the leash, etc.

A typical day

In the past, my typical day would be to go for a walk and play fetch or tug-of-war. Recently I adopted a new puppy with TONS of energy and I had to learn all new ways of stimulating their body and mind. Now I typically will start with a play session to get them tired and then take them on a long walk. I particularly like taking the dogs I watch to Riverside Park and Prospect Park since there’s lot of places to sniff and explore. I always like to try something different everyday to keep them excited for their walks and mentally stimulated!
