Pet care experience
Since 2018, I’ve been a dog mom to an 75lb dog-reactive American Staffordshire Terrier mix, Kono. Because of his reactivity, I’ve learned so much about how important basic leash skills are and how to recognize a dog’s thresholds based on their body language and set them up for success. I’ve gained a deep level of training knowledge through daily study, and I bring that passion and knowledge of dog behavior to every walk I go on. It’s my personal policy not to let dogs meet on leash for their own safety. I am passionate about making sure a dog is not only getting exercise, but is practicing loose leash walking and also getting time to sniff around. I have experience using both harnesses as well as slip leads and prongs, and am comfortable using whatever tool works best for your dog.

Michelle is an avid dog lover who commits numerous hours to training her dog, Kono, learning more about training, building her dog treat business, Kono’s Kitchen (she even donates some of the proceeds to local shelters!), and connecting with fellow dog parents. Wow. Where do I start. Michelle is the most capable, loving, trusting, responsible and engaging person I know to both humans and fellow canine friends. She has proven time and time again her ability to connect and nurture any furry friend that she comes across. I’ve witnessed her journey of loving and training her own adopted dog Kono from the very beginning and have seen this pup flourish and grow into the beautiful and well behaved dog he has grown to thanks to Michelle’s dedication in providing the best care and training techniques. I trust her with my life so naturally I also trusted her with my furry baby Pomeranian, Moo Moo. She was able to dog sit for me on several occasions and has helped train Moo to be less reactive to other dogs thanks to her. I highly recommend Michelle for your dog sitting/walking needs. I love to engage dogs in play and will incorporate that as well to build trust and engagement with your dog.

Please let me know if your dog has specific triggers to be aware of (e.g. other dogs, bikes, people, cats, etc) or if they have a tendency to redirect if they are reacting to a trigger. I’m also happy to work on any known signals during a walk to practice obedience, so let me know if you have a specific release word (e.g. “okay” or “break”) or anything I should keep in mind, such as if you want them to be walked on the right or on the left.
A typical day
I’m flexible and want to make sure your dog is walked according to your preference. If you’d like your dog to work on leash skills and have a more structured walk, I can do that. If you’d like your dog to just walk freely and stop and go as they please, I can do that as well. I like to keep things fun and keep the energy up on walks. If there’s any place you’d like me to avoid, please let me know!

Currently, I’m working full-time from home with a flexible schedule. I’m very responsive and take great iPhone portrait mode photos. Early morning walks are not a problem as I am an early riser!
