I made looking after a senior Yorkie Poo my life and adored every second of it. 5 years with her until she passed away was not enough. I’d love to pass on my care and attention to others’ beloved pets so you can be sure they are cared for when you need pet sitting. All pets in my care are the main focus of my time whilst in my care. They are never left alone in my care to ensure there is no anxiety.

I am fully insured. I have a fenced garden and no other pets. I work from home as a digital artist and Professional Photographer, and so can organise walks and play around my work. I completed the Kiltwalk in April 2025 and so love getting out for long walks - there are so many choices in Falkirk and surrounding areas, which is great! I’m trained in canine emergency first aid and my certification is updated regularly in line with regulations. I have Level 3 Professional Pet Business First Aid certification. Any pet in my care will be in a smoke-free home that allows pets the best care for their respiratory health.

Information Michèle D. would like to know about your pet
Please just let me know anything specific. I have looked after pups, senior dogs and dogs who are blind, incontinent and diabetic and reactive dogs too.
A typical day
I love games that are appropriate to a dog’s age, abilities, interests and confidence levels. Whenever a dog has been in my care, I have been completely focussed on them and their experience. You won’t get me sitting on my phone ignoring a dog when out and about, unless I’m making a video or photos for you.

Passionate in helping dogs feel happy
Pet care experience
I am so passionate about dogs and cats. So much so, I’m now studying a degree in Clinical Canine Behaviour due to my love of animals so I can help train and support dogs and owners further and fulfil mental stimulation and enrichment game needs for your dog. I am fully insured and also have my Level 3 Professional Pet Business First Aid certification and I am verified with Disclosure Scotland. I have worked with the police previously and feel I am very trustworthy, honest and open as a person. I’m passionate about using a positive, force-free approach to dog care and training that promotes building a strong bond with dogs where they have choices in what happens in their day but are also gently encouraged in building confidence and resilience if needed. I prefer happy co-operation in my interactions. This is very important to me in helping your little ones feel safe and happy while they are away from their beloved family. I prefer to mimic a dog’s at home routine as much as possible to ensure comfort either in my own home or in client home stays. I like to work with any training or habits you may be helping your pet with also so that there are no confusing messages. I also like to use language and vocab familiar to your pet where possible. This helps your dog to feel understood and is a good way to help them settle when in my home. All exercise needs appropriate to age, abilities and energy levels are met with me. I also offer drop in feeding and play visits to beloved dogs/cats/puppies in my community. Whether it’s for a holiday, work trip or attending a wedding/funerals/family events, know that your little dog/catwill be taken care of with such focus and joy. I also am available for chaperoning your companion to weddings - they don’t have to miss out on all the family fun. Please note that I have a little 2.8kg rescue Yorkie (Ollie) that really needed help. And so, I can only look after smallish dogs who like socialising with other dogs. My little one, Ollie, loves dogs but likes to give them space. As I am Ollie’s main carer he would normally accompany me on pet stays. I do check on meet and greets prior to any stay that any dogs I am looking after would be a good match for Ollie and vice versa. I have a secure, gated garden space for dogs to roam in whilst supervised. Enrichment games definitely take place in the garden here! I also grow curry plants in my garden (great for homemade curry) but are also a deterrent for cats, which is helpful for dogs who are unsure of cats. I have a mud daddy and take care to ensure dogs paws are cleared of potentially damaging grass seeds, salt etc after walks. I also check for crusty butts!!! (It does happen more than you think, haha!) to make sure they have no discomfort. I also have a great pet pram/stroller for pups not able to interact with other dogs or for senior dogs with mobility issues or those convalescing after illness or surgery. I have experience of looking after dogs who are nervous, blind, diabetic and incontinent and I also have experience of dogs with dementia and deafness. I specialise in care for senior dogs as well as puppies. If your baby comes to stay with me, they are never left home alone. It’s so incredible when I have repeat visits from so many lovely dogs where they just have such a relaxed confidence on subsequent stays - they see my home as a holiday for them which helps pets not miss their beloved families. Then I see how incredible this service is! My story: I was adopted by a senior Yorkie Poo (Fia). A first time dog owner as an adult, although we always had dogs and cats growing up. I’m so proud of everything Fia and I achieved in our time together. She was an extremely anxious and worried little girl when she came to me, and older than her years. She aged into being a happy, confident, relaxed and fun-loving puppy before my eyes. I Ioved her more than anyone in this world. She sadly had to be put to sleep in March 2024 at almost 14 after a lung infection. I missed the company of dogs and all the joy and love they bring. And so, I set up my pet walking and sitting business from there and it’s grown legs! I am so lucky in that all my clients adore their dogs and cats like the most important family members. You can see just how loved they are and that is such an honour to look after pets that are so precious. They are more than just dogs or cats. If I can answer any questions, please let me know. And thanks for considering booking me to look after your often furriers family member. Michèle
Reviews

Left Harris with Michele for 1st time last night. He can be a bit shy with strangers but by time we got home they were best friends and think he was sorry to see her leave. Was a bit nervous re using Rover but it worked out well and will use again. Thanks Michele. 😊

Michéle is the first dog walker we've used, and we were nervous given that we have a shy, reactive rescue dog. She has worked wonders for our dog and now even has him able to walk off the lead, which we were told would never happen. She's been amazing for our dog and has also helped us with tips and advice with our confidence walking him. I can't say enough about how incredible she is. Please don't hesitate to book her!

Look's like they both had fun. Great walk as usual thank you

Brilliant walk today
