Pet care experience
Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by my profile! I have both personal and volunteer experience with dogs and cats. I have cared for 2 different family dogs for about 12 years...so far! Previously, I volunteered with my county humane society where my primary position was dog-walking and I LOVED it! I gained experience with a wide variety of breeds and sizes of dogs from different life experiences. I got to know different doggie personalities, levels of energy, ease of walking, etc. I’ve walked dogs who had aggressive or anti-social behaviors, were high-energy or reluctant, or who had medical conditions as well. Plenty of experience harnessing and leashing different dogs! I also love jogging, so if you want your dog to really burn some energy, I’m happy to jog or run with them! I also have 2 kitties of my own that I've cared for for about 2 years. I sometimes harness and leash my cats and walk them around, and also have a double-decker cat stroller - I can use either with your cats if you’re comfortable or interested! I've had experience socializing cats at the humane society and gained knowledge of different personality types and desired levels of interaction of different cats. I have experience playing with and stimulating cats with different toys and treats! 9/25/20: Completed CPR For Dogs course

Michaela is wonderful with animals and has a tender heart for their well-being. In addition to having volunteered at a local shelter, she is currently providing a forever home to 2 formerly stray cats who always look happy and healthy. I have had her walk and care for my dog, and she treats him as if he were her own. I fully trust her with any dog or cat entrusted to her care.

-I’d like to know how your dog likes to walk - quickly, slowly, likes to sniff, likes to run, etc! -Anything that would make your dog or cat more comfortable with me, whether that be a kind of treat, a way of talking, etc. -Any special care instructions for sitting your animal (how often to take the dog out for bathroom, if they have allergies/medical conditions, etc) -I have no breed preferences - just no giant dogs, as I’m a rather short person and don’t have much experience with truly giant breeds.
A typical day
We can walk all around the neighborhood/area where you live! If available/close-by, we can go to a trail or park. I’m happy to jog or run with the dog as well! Playing fetch, tug-of-war, belly rubs, head scratches... all included! Also refilling water and refilling dog food. For cats, I can provide fun and stimulation through toys and play! And of course, make sure the litter box is emptied, refilling cat food and water.

My current availability is Mondays-Thursdays, afternoons/evenings. —-Mon: 4pm-10pm —-Tues: 4pm-6pm —-Wed: 4pm-10pm —-Thurs: 4pm-6pm I can take long-term set clients or one-time appointments - I'm flexible! I can only provide walking and drop-in sitting.
