THE ACTIVE OUTDOOR DOG GUY - countryside fanatic

Pet care experience

All my life I have had dogs. As a child we were taught the importance of interacting with animals. Our extended family have always had dogs and cats and so it has always been a part of our lives. Life without them wouldn't be the same. Being an active outdoors person has always meant that our dogs get long walks with us. Swimming in the sea and splashing in rivers and streams is an absolute joy. Active dogs are happy dogs.

Monty had a great time with Michael which meant that we were not worried about him at all. We got some regular pictures and videos which is always lovely and Monty had plenty of exercise plus some doggy as well as human companionship (Michael has two friendly dogs). We recommend Michael very highly!

Used Michael 's dog day care service for our miniature dachshund Rupert. From the photo's and video he looked to be having a lovely time with Michaels two dogs (Harry and Tinker). Rupert clearly enjoyed his visit in a very dog friendly house. Would definitely use Michaels services again.

Our first time using Rover.com - easy and clear booking process. Michael - thank you, Ester so enjoyed herself, she was well looked after and I had complete peace of mind leaving her in your company and capable hands.

We have a lovely fenced back garden with sunshine and shade. There are two doors opening onto the back garden, allowing the dogs to come and go as they please. Fetch and bring games are common so the dogs are always guaranteed some form of exercise. Outside wash area ensure muddy paws are taken care of. When feeding the dogs, we ensure there is ample distance from each other to ensure they can enjoy their meals and not worry about wolfing their food down whilst others look on. Grooming takes place in the evenings, whether it be a quick brush or just a good old ear rub.

Information Michael T. would like to know about your pet

I am comfortable with all small and medium sized dogs.I believe in routine and it is important that I know what your animal enjoys. Likewise, the things that I should avoid. When it comes to how far and how often your dog requires walking is also NB. Bathing and grooming, let me know what type of shampoo your dog uses. When it come to feeding time, dogs can be very particular about the routine( which bowl, where to be fed and what time). If they are on any medication, please advise.

A typical day

Throw and return balls. I have loads of places to take the dogs, be it to the local parks or the nature reserve that our house backs onto. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to dog walks. Many are on our doorstep, meaning that driving the dogs to venues is not necessary. They average from 3km up to 7km. Lovely country walks, away from vehicles and the masses. Nice peaceful areas that allow the dogs to relax and have loads of time to smell, run and play. Also, when it's hot, the dogs have access to many streams and rivers that they can cool off in.

I work from home which allows me to interact with my dogs on a daily basis. Routine is important and every morning the dogs get to socialize in the garden. After breakfast we get to access the nature reserve which borders our property. Access to parks, fields and the multiple countryside walks on our doorstep ensures that the dogs and I get ample fresh air, smells and exercise. Feeding times are respected and we ensure that the dogs are fed accordingly and fresh water is always available. Indoor comforts finish off most days, being it playing with some chewy toys or just chilling on the couch.
