Pet care experience

My name is Michael and I have been with Rover since 2016. I’ve always had a pet as a child in the young adult and I have been a pet owner. I am originally from Minneapolis prior to moving to New York and in Los Angeles for 15 years I’ve currently been in New York 6 years. My love for dogs has been long before I can remember a small child. There is always been a special connection for bond that I’ve been able to share with dogs. They have this unconditional love to give you and it’s so rewarding and I became a dog sitter, because it allowed me to have really wonderful memories and build relationships with my clients and their dogs. I can remember as a young child , as a young teenager, and into adulthood. It’s always been in my nature to be there for others and offer my help to everyone.

Michael was beyond amazing. He communicated very often about our elder pup and made us rest comfortably knowing she was in such good care. He made sure our house was in even better shape than when we left it. Could not recommend anyone more than Michael.

Michael did an amazing job. Super detailed oriented and responsive. He took care of my cat for six days. She was happy in a wonderful spirits upon my return. And my apartment looked fantastic. He left my pet with great energy and my space better than he found it. Can’t wait to use them again!

We have an anxious and shy dog and Michael was very considerate and caring from the get go. He gave our dog space while also trying to make her feel comfortable. He sent multiple updates while we were away. He left our place very clean.

Safety, trust & environment

My home is very organized and clean. Anything that could be harmful is locked up and have lots of toys for them to play with. I make sure to take them on long walks and play with them. When I’m home with the clients dog. We are hanging out together and not is separate rooms. If they is anytime of having to leave them alone. Its only a short period of time. I make sure nothing is left out for them to get themselves into trouble or a harmful situation. It’s my job to make sure to look after the clients dogs give them an environment that is safe and they can trust me with them so I treat them as if they were my own dog. I asked lots of questions before I accept any type of service for a client during our meeting greet.

Information Michael S. would like to know about your pet

There are a number of things that are important for me to know before starting a service with the client. I have a list of questions that are asked during the clients schedule meet and greet about their dogs. I begin with the basics. Does your dog have any triggers when out for there walks. What are their interactions with other dogs or children? Can their dogs be left alone? What is the longest period of time they can be by themselves. What is the timeframe between taking them out to pee or do #2, how often are they said in the amount, any medication is given, rules for inside example can I sleep in the bed or allowed on the furniture, location and vet information, phone numbers of friends, family, neighbors in case of emergency.

A typical day

I enjoy anything outdoors while I am taking care of a clients dog. Which include going on hikes or walking along the waterfront. I’ll take them to the dog park. Madison Square, Park did a beautiful renovation last year to their dog park. It hasn’t awesome water feature. That is wonderful on hot summer days for dogs to fall off. I enjoy throwing the ball with the dog. Definitely think this is my most favorite thing to do is to cuddle with the dogs. They should be at a park or on the couch.
