Your Dog's Away-from-Home Friend!

Pet care experience

I grew up on a farm with dogs and cats (and chickens, pigs, horses, goats), so definitely have experience throughout my life with animals. I am very experienced with dogs known to be escape artists (huskies), bigger dogs like Labradors, and smaller dogs like pugs and chihuahuas. I absolutely love dogs and their personalities and treat them as nothing less than a family member. Your family member will be sure to be let out often, taken on (lengthy) walks, and socialized with others (unless you specifically opt out of these!) in a safe, healthy, and clean environment. Any and all special requests and dietary needs will also be observed to your strictest standards. You will have peace-of-mind knowing your family member is in good hands. I look forward to being your dog's friend away from home. P.S., Thank you in advance for trusting me with your pup! A portion of the fee is donated to Seattle Humane Society. Note: While I try to accommodate all your specific needs and timing requests, please allow for a 30-minute buffer around pick-up/drop-off times to account for unanticipated delays, traffic, etc. Additional Note: While I live in an extremely dog-friendly community, I am unable to board pups who have separation anxiety issues, or pups who have a need to bark at every sound in the community as there are observed quiet hours during the evenings as well as limits to the amount, level, and duration of noise made throughout the day. ASSUMPTIONS regarding your pup if services are booked: crate-trained; housebroken; completely vaccinated; not a chewer!; does not have separation anxiety; is friendly towards other dogs and people; and, no food allergies (unless you specifically state otherwise). All assumptions other than the food allergies criteria apply to dog boarding and doggy daycare services. For drop-ins and house sitting, completely vaccinated and friendly towards dogs and people applies. For house-sitting requests, please be aware that my pup would also be joining me! Also please be aware that house sitting will be limited to overnight stays, generally from 8 PM to 8 AM the next morning. House-sitting requests will also be charged one round trip fee per week or fraction thereof.

Michael is my go to sitter. So kind, flexible, honest and caring. He knows I am the one with separation anxiety and forwards pictures from the moment of drop off until I pick up. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone, and thanks again for caring for my baby.

Excellent communication, tons of happy photos! Our dog was very well cared for while we were on a long trip. Lots of walks, plenty of attention. She got along great with their resident pets. We will definitely be back!

gugu had a great time staying with Michael and his pups! Michael provided lots of updates during the stay , and it’s nice that food is provided for my dog so I didn’t need to pack much for the 4-day stay

I live in a controlled access apartment with a very large patio that overlooks South Lake Union. My unit doors lock automatically and sends me alerts in the event the door is unlocked or opened, and the main building doors are always locked. I also have two pet cameras surveilling my unit. Your pup will enjoy a great view and plenty of fresh air. The apartment has two air conditioners for added comfort.

Information Michael P. would like to know about your pet

***NO PUPS WITH SEPARATION ANXIETY, FOOD AGGRESSION, OR RESOURCE-GUARDING ISSUES, PLEASE.*** Please let me know of your pup's dietary and physical needs, if any. Please let me know if your pup has separation anxiety. While I will make every attempt to accommodate your pup, and I live in a very pet-friendly community, I am unfortunately unable to accommodate pups with known separation anxiety that will be disruptive to the community. Please also let me know if your pup is crate-trained. I provide an extra XL crate so you don't need to provide your own. Crating is used only to provide a safe, calm environment while I am not home. If your pup is perfectly fine not being crated and isn't a "chewer", simply let me know that your pup doesn't need to be crated! I also provide premium, grain-free food (wet & dry) so you don't have to pack much. Of course, feel free to bring your pup's own food and specify any and all dietary restrictions/requirements. Lastly, please let me know of your pup's temperament around other dogs. I live in an extremely dog-friendly community so the likeliness of your pup's interaction with other pups of all sizes, ages, and breeds is very high. Please be sure to view my ASSUMPTIONS about your pup in my ‘About Me’ section. If your pup doesn’t meet these criteria, while I would love to board your fury family member, I am unable to host him if all the criteria are not met (except for food allergies/restrictions). For house-sitting requests, please be aware that my pup would also be joining me! Also please be aware that house sitting will be limited to overnight stays, generally from 8 PM to 8 AM the next morning. House-sitting requests will also be charged one round trip fee per week or fraction thereof. P.S., Thank you in advance for trusting me with your pup! A typical day

Your pup will enjoy lengthy walks around Green Lake Park, up and down Mill Creek Town Center (when I'm up north), and hikes if your dog is boarded over the weekend (unless you opt out of this!), but at the very least, lengthy walks along Greenwood Avenue daily. All this is weather-permitting, of course. I provide additional safety harnesses and seat belts for your pup while in the car with me. When we walk at nights, your pup will be geared with an LED light for his safety. For weekday stays, it is important to note that I do work a full-time job M-F, from 9 AM to 5 PM. That means that your dog will be safe, but unattended during those hours. I am home all evening, however, from 5:30 PM to the next morning around 8:30 AM. Your pup will be let out during the following times: once at 6:00 AM, again at 8:30 AM, at 5:30 PM when I get home, and again at about 10:00 PM. Walks occur between 6 - 8:30 AM, and between 5:30 - 9:00 PM. Walks are typically about 1.5 - 3 miles each, dependent on where we go and the weather. Your pup would have my undivided attention 24/7 over the weekend, however, except for maybe the occasional 30 minutes to an hour if I run errands to the grocery store. Outings would be spread out more throughout the day over the weekend as well, and likely more frequent. I provide plenty of healthy, grain-free treats, peanut butter treats, premium dog treats with quality ingredients that may contain flour and/or wheat and/or grain(s), along with stuffed toys, squeaky balls, ropes, dental chews, pig ears, and hide chews to provide hours of distraction and fun! Treats are also used to reinforce positive behaviors. If your pup doesn't do well with grain, be sure to let me know and I will use only grain-free options with your pup. P.S., Thank you in advance for trusting me with your pup! A portion of the fee is donated to Seattle Humane Society.
