Sitting in Seattle
Pet care experience
Hello! I'm Michael, and I've been living in Seattle since 2005. I started pet-sitting as a favor for friends, and I discovered that I'm good at it because I take it seriously. I've got experience looking after dogs and cats in urban and suburban settings. I've looked after cats that sleep all day, dogs that want to be played with all day, and everything in-between. My services include daily walks, vet visits as needed, medication administration as needed, basic house-keeping (watering plants, trash/recycling/compost, vacuuming, wiping down common areas, laundry, mail, etc.), and sending regular pictures and updates of your furbabies while you're away.
Reviews
Michael took fantastic care of our pets and home! He is dependable, communicative and caring. The dogs love him! In addition, we had several small issues come up while Michael was at our home and he dealt with each efficiently and effectively. Every day we received a pic or an update and came home to a clean home. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
We have been delighted with Michael’s care for our two cats and plants. He has helped us multiple times in the last year and has been thorough, conscientious, and thoughtful about sending photos/checking in throughout the time we are gone. It’s so reassuring knowing that the cats are so well-cared for! We recommend Michael whole-heartedly!
Michael is a wonderful petsitter! He looked after my two cats while I was away for the holidays, doing regular drop-in visits. He's very communicative and really paid attention to the instructions I gave for their care. My cats are fairly low maintenance, but he still wanted to make sure they were as happy and healthy as they could be! My cats adored him, and he sent me lots of lovely pictures while I was away! I've already booked him for another visit.
Michael has stayed in our home and watched our cat twice, once for a period of 10 days while we travelled internationally and the second time for a long weekend. He took excellent care of our cat and our home, all while being very professional and communicative. During the first stay, we unexpectedly had to pick up some new medication for our cat right before leaving for our flight, and Michael was very adaptable and did a great job making sure our cat got all of his medication, even though we hadn't briefed him on it before. We would definitely recommend Michael for your pet- and home-sitting needs!

Safety, trust & environment
Being entrusted with someone's pet(s) in their home is a big responsibility, and one I take very seriously. I keep in regular touch with clients (via instant messaging and email), consult written instructions daily, and prioritize pet-care over other responsibilities.
Information Michael P. would like to know about your pet
I'm partial to big dogs, but I have experience looking after small dogs as well. I'd like to know how the dog is with other dogs, strangers wanting to pet him or her, habits, and any health concerns.
A typical day
One of the best things about living in Seattle is that there are so many dog-friendly parks. Even when the weather isn't great, we can go for a walk or a quick jog. Playtime is hugely important, so getting to know your dogs' favorite toys, for games of fetch or tug-of-war (my favorite is psyching a dog out with a fake throw), is a great way to keep a dog occupied, burn off their excess energy, and make sure they're having fun while you're gone.

Availability
I work from home, so I can do my work while keeping your pet company and making sure they get regular feedings and attention. When I do need to be out of the house, I plan for making sure I can return to your house after only a few hours to check in on your pets.
