I have handled dogs my entire life. I currently have 4 of my own in a wide variety of sizes and energy levels. I volunteer at a few local shelters in Columbus and have since i was a child. On dog walks the most important thing is the dogs safety and enrichment. To ensure of this i make sure the dog does not encounter negative triggers and advert them to a positive trigger so they can learn to not respond to these triggers as much. I have trained all of my dogs with positive reinforcement methods and it seems to be the most effective and stress free way to handle dogs.
