Howling Good Dog Boarding

Pet care experience

UPDATE 2023: We have a child (currently 5 years old) in our home. New guest dogs will need to be screened for safety with children. **Dogs over 50lb will need to be senior aged, “gentle giants”, or both.** Dogs are our passion. Tall, small, fluffy, or droopy-we will be your dog's new best friends! Always ask us about our availability. We live 15 minutes (5 miles) away from the airport in a safe neighborhood in Maryland Heights. We charge on a per-day basis, meaning that each day a guest is in our home, is a charge for that day. Example: Drop off 10am on the 1st, pick up at 8pm on the 2nd, is a two-day charge, not one overnight. If picked up by 9am on the last day, there is no charge for that day. We have 2 resident dogs, a Basset Hound named Hammy, as well as a Lab mix named Zuli. Both are medium sized, around 45lb. They love to socialize and play with other dogs in our spacious 4000sq. ft. fenced back yard, as well as go for walks. We strive to be flexible on pickup and drop off times. We do prefer getting to know new dogs with a survey and meet and greet beforehand, so that all dogs who stay together will have a safe and happy experience. If your dates are during the summer or around a holiday, please let us know as early as you can, as space fills fast. Can't wait to meet your dog! Aroooo! -Mike and Beth My wife and I have been married for over 10 years now. She grew up with Basset Hounds and other dogs her whole life, while I've owned and cared for a Golden Retriever, Beagle, a few mutts, and cats as well as our two current dogs. One of us is here at all times, we have insurance, 24/7 vet support, and lots of love to give! Why I love dog sitting I've owned and cared for dogs for over 20 years. Meet my pets Female Mix named Zuli Male Basset Hound named Hammy About my yard ~4000sqft. fenced in back yard, surrounded by other houses and fenced in yards so your dog has no worries of getting free, as if they did manage to get over my own fence, they end up in my neighbors back yard. Large area to run and frolic.

Michael and his family are great! We received great communication before and during our dog’s stay, including daily photos/videos. They are very attentive to the needs of each dog and thoughtful about providing each dog with the right space and environment.

Michael was fantastic with my dog. He is very thorough and enjoys taking care of dogs. He has a nice backyard for the dogs to play. Will definitely be going back to him in the future.

Information Michael H. would like to know about your pet

No breed preference. I like to know habits, quirks, feeding times, if they walk well on a leash, medical history, and if they get along with other dogs.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We have the great option to either take a neighborhood suburban stroll, or a romp in Vago or Creve Coeur park. My area is away from busy main streets, so no worries there. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Options include an upstairs spare bedroom, living room furniture, gated in our kitchen (cool floor), snuggling with us, or crated with owner’s permission. Time I'll spend with your dog Someone is available in the home almost all 24 hours of the day, so your dog will never be in confinement all by themselves for an extended period. The only instances are going out for a bit for an errand (mail, grabbing dinner, etc.) I play, run around the yard, and take the dogs on walks as weather allows . Time I'll spend with your dog With my own dogs I engage in playtime, chasing them around the yard, and walking multiple times a day (as just running around the yard doesn't satisfy the primal need to roam and explore the same way a walk does). I either walk in my quiet suburban neighborhood, or pick between 2 local parks depending on how busy they are.
