Pet care experience
My wife and I worship that faux-aloof, faux-independent critter known otherwise as the domestic housecat. They may act like they don't need us humans for anything but food and litter box maintenance, but we know the truth: they also need lots of love and affection, even if they won't admit it! ;) We had our own special kitty for 7 wonderful but all-too-short years, and we really miss him. It's been so rewarding meeting our clients' feline companions, keeping them company, feeding and playing with them, and earning their trust and affection. We'd love to do the same for your special kitty, too. As former pet owners, we know how emotionally wrenching it can be leaving your fur baby in the hands of strangers. It's our goal to alleviate that stress and anxiety by providing plenty of updates and photos and being available for any questions or concerns you might have before, during, and after the booking. We're really proud of the glowing reviews we've received from owners and the strong bonds we've formed with their cats, and we hope to have a similarly positive experience with you and your kitty.

We’ve had Michael & Dipti house sit and watch our cat many times. This time, though, we threw two new kittens in the mix (both 13 weeks old). Michael & Dipti watched over our little colony for 3 whole weeks and did an amazing job. Our older cat hasn’t yet taken liking to the kittens but Michael & Dipti sought out ways to make sure all of cats got equal attention and helped ease the strained relations between them. Each time they’ve stayed with us, I can tell they care for the cats as their own. They send great updates and fun photos along the way, which makes our time away a little easier. We had some hiccups with the house this last time around but Michael & Dipti were very flexible and understanding, which was very appreciated. Thanks again!!!

Michael and Dipti were great! They watched Hobbes for a long weekend. Their updates every day were wonderful, they followed instructions, showed up on time, and made me feel like Hobbes was being really cared for in my absence.

OUR METHOD Since cats can be picky about who they trust, we'll do our best to earn that trust by adhering to their daily routine, giving them lots of opportunities to play, allowing them space when they need it, and presenting ourselves in our body language and general manner as friendly and non-threatening. We always have lots of questions when meeting a new cat (and their owner(s)) for the first time. The more information you're able to provide about your cat's habits, likes/dislikes, and behavior, the better and faster we'll be able to gain your kitty's trust. Before reaching out for a booking with us, we ask that you please first complete your cat's Rover profile so we can get a good idea of your pet's needs, routine, character, and care level to determine whether we would be a good fit for her or him.

Please let us know if your kitty has any allergies or special needs. Emergency contacts and vet information are also crucial for us to have before booking a stay, as well as the location of their carrying case in your home.
A typical day
We love to play with cats, whether it's twirling a toy at the end of a wand, tossing treats along the floor for them to run after, or dragging something tempting underneath an old blanket or wrapping paper. We are also very big fans of chilling on the couch and providing a warm lap for a kitty in need of cuddle time. Unlimited ear rubs and chin scratches are included with every booking at no extra charge! ;)

Availability
SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY We are available for both House-Sitting and Drop-In Visits. For House-Sitting, we are available to stay just about anywhere in Portland (up to a 6 mile drive from the Overlook neighborhood), as long as it's an overnight stay. If you're interested in having us house-sit just during the day and not stay the night, your home must be located within 1 mile of our house. We are available both weekdays and weekends. My wife and I both work from home, so as long as you have good, fast Wi-Fi (a must!) we can work from your home instead. Besides fast Internet, we also require a bed with clean sheets and towels and kitchen access. For Drop-In Visits, we're looking for pet owners in our neighborhood at walkable distances from our home near N. Killingsworth and N. Interstate (roughly 0.5 miles away for twice-a-day visits or up to 1 mile away for once-a-day visits).
