I have two dogs myself. I would make sure your home and dog are well taken care of as if it were my home or dog. I am a neat freak and like everything to be organized. I only feed my dogs healthy food and treats. I even give my dog's bottled water or filtered water. I know what dogs can and can't have, but I have the emergency animal hospital in my phone. I have helped train a few dogs in the past. It is a good idea to know what the dog likes and dislikes. You have to be on your guard for anything unexpected. When I have my dogs out and about, I carry around their first aid kits as well as portable bowls.
