Extended family for your fur baby!

Pet care experience

Hi there! As a dog mom of two, I know how stressful it can be trying to find a sitter you can trust to give your fur-baby the level of love, care, and attention they deserve. I offer limited Rover services, meaning I only accept 1-2 dogs for daycare or boarding at a time. This enables me to offer around the clock care and attention, and make sure your babies are comfortable and at ease while you’re away! During their stay, your baby will be treated like my own. They won’t be left in a crate, bullied by other dogs, or ignored. I’ll be here keeping them comfortable and happy for the duration of their stay. ❤️

Mia was great! She was super friendly and thorough in explaining how the process works. She even arranged a meet and greet before I officially booked her. I have a high energy basset hound and her dogs were the perfect playmates. She sent us regular updates and pictures. He came back seeming like he had the best time. This was our first time using Rover and I’m really glad we found Mia.

We are so thankful we found Mia and her pups! This is was our first time leaving our high energy pup with someone. She sent me lots of videos and checked in which made us feel so much better. We would use her again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Mia!!

Mia was a great host! She was consistent with communication and provided plenty of pictures. I will definitely be using her services again as I am sure my pup enjoyed her time.

Mia was great! Punctual, took great care of our dog, and took lots of pictures. Also a great communicator. We would not hesitate to book her again!

Safety, trust & environment

Whether I’m in my home or yours, my first focus is making sure your dog feels safe and comfortable with me. I closely read your instructions. If anything is unclear or seems off, I am quick to send a text asking you for directions. For larger dogs or long walks, I will sometimes bring my husband along to give me extra hands if I need them. Our emphasis is always making sure your pet receives the mental stimulation, exercise, and affection they deserve! If you book me for dog walking, I use the full scheduled time (30 or 60 minutes) for the walk, unless you tell me otherwise. We walk around your neighborhood at your dog’s pace. I have significant experience with leash training, so please let me know if you’ve trained your dog and want me to enforce a leash heel. Drop-in visits are for things like play time, meals, and backyard potty breaks. They can also include short walks! If you are out of town and I will be the sole source of care for your dog, I require that you book a minimum of 3 drop-in visits or walks per 24 hours. During boarding, your dog will be included in my normal daily schedule, unless you specify otherwise! If you’d like me to provide any training, let me know and we can discuss pricing. I’ve invested significant time and money into learning how to train my own dogs, and am competent to work with your dogs on basic obedience as well as leash training.

Information Mia D. would like to know about your pet

I always appreciate knowing about any special needs or challenging behaviors, particularly food aggression, a pet might have. I also love knowing what a typical daily schedule looks like for your pet, so I can match it as closely as possible! I know dogs are creatures of habit, and I find that routines and familiarity makes their time away from you a bit easier. For safety purpose, I require that you bring your dog’s kennel with you to drop-off for all daycare or boarding services.

A typical day

I am a firm believer that a tired dog is a happy dog. If your dog is a fan of long walks, we will use our nearby nature trail for safe and serene exploration. If you want, I’ll take your dog to our neighborhood park to run and make friends. If your dog is more of a homebody, we will play with toys and my two golden retrievers! My backyard is large and we can explore it (on leash, as the yard isn’t fenced yet) to your dog’s content.

I work full time from home. I have ample flexibility in my schedule. My daily routine with my dogs includes a long morning walk at our nearby nature trail, followed by breakfast and an afternoon full of naps, potty breaks, snuggles, and playtime. After dinner, I take another long walk or a trip to our nearby neighborhood dog park! At night, I brush my dogs’ fur and teeth before we settle in for bed. If you have any grooming requests for your dog, let me know! I have flexibility to add in additional walks or other agenda items throughout the day that your fur baby might need. Please note that my daycare hours are 8am-5pm. If your pick-up or drop-off time falls outside this window, you will be charged an additional fee of $5 per additional hour.
