Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Mia! I have 4+ years of experience working in veterinary medicine at both an emergency clinics and general day practice. I have cared for dogs and cats since I was very young, and am an avid animal lover. I fostered for years with Kalamazoo Animal Rescue in Michigan before moving to Milwaukee and my friends call me the zookeeper. I have owned a plethora of animals, from ducks to hedgehogs. I've never lived in a pet free home. My availability is pretty wide open, as I am a freelance wedding photographer. Reach out and I’ll be sure to treat your pets just like you do- like family! 🩺🐾
Reviews
Mia was great with our dogs! We have a Siberian husky and a chocolate lab that both love attention, and she made sure they were well taken care of. We received adorable pictures of our pups throughout their stay, and we were constantly kept updated about how they were doing. One of our dogs was shedding, and Mia even brushed her out really well. Our pups came home tired, happy, and had very obviously had a great time!
she is incredible with animals! She has a large, fenced in yard that’s perfect for your pet to run around in and play in. She has 2 other dogs, so if your pet likes companionship, you’ll love having her sit your dog!

Safety, trust & environment
As a veterinary assistant at a fear-free certified clinic, I learned how to work with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I know how to meet a dog on their comfort level and safely meet their needs even when I’m a stranger to them. And whether your cat is friendly or shy, I know how to care for them while respecting their cattitude.
Information Mia H. would like to know about your pet
No breed discrimination. Tell me what your dog likes to do and we'll do it! If your dog is afraid of anything in particular or has any allergies, I would need to know.
A typical day
I can teach your dogs basic training and tricks or practice what they know, as well as provide mental stimulation through puzzle toys or games. I like to take dogs on walks away from main roads when possible, such as through neighborhoods or parks.

Availability
I am available for drop in services most weekdays and weekend evenings. I can do one-time clients or regulars. Walking long distances and teaching basic training is also something I offer.
