A dog is a woman's best friend
Pet care experience
Growing up, I took on a lot of the responsibility for caring, grooming, and walking our family dog- a big labradoodle named Bo. I helped my mom train him as a puppy so I'm comfortable with house and obedience training for puppies. I miss Bo more than anything, and would treat your dog like it is my own. I'm a patient, reliable, "people person", and am comfortable around both big and small dogs. I've lived in DC for several years now so I know the neighborhoods well and where the best parks and walking routes are in the city. I'm also an active person, and can keep up with big dogs! I work for the government and my schedule is pretty reliable, so I am flexible on week day evenings and weekends.
Reviews
Mia was an awesome sitter and took great care of Hank! She was very communicative throughout the whole time. I’ll be using Mia again in the future.
Cannot say enough good things about Mia as a sitter for the weekend! She was attentive, responsible, nurturing, and even took the time to reinforce our puppy's training that, admittedly, as owners we've gotten lazy about. I won't ever leave Rhone with anyone else.
I’ve known Mia and her dog Bo for over 10 years and highly recommend her as a dog walker/sitter for your furry friend. As as dog walker myself, I can say with certainty that Mia will care for your dog like he/she is her own. Mia is kind, caring, responsible, and timely. I recommend her without reservation!
Having known Mia for a good part of the last decade, I can attest that she is an incredibly charismatic, enthusiastic and loyal person that both humans and animals can trust. Mia grew up with dogs, equipping her with experience interacting with, and caring for, dogs from their puppy phase of development through adulthood. Speaking from personal experience, I had no hesitation introducing Mia to my then 8-week-old Cavapoo puppy right after we brought him home. Mia was and is a natural around him as he's continued to grow -- demonstrating patience, composure and spirited affection. She's adept at handling typical puppy behavior/issues with manners, such as biting, jumping up, barking, etc., by turning to positive reinforcement training techniques to control the situation and redirect him to constructive playtime. Discerning pet parents on Rover can feel confident knowing that their precious fur baby is in good hands with Mia.
