Future Veterinary Tech

Pet care experience

I absolutely love dogs. I grew up with a variety of different breads from small to big including two Pit bulls since the age of 7. I would occasionally dog sit throughout the years and am known to be a reliable attentive sitter. Back at home I have a dog who is not people/nor dog friendly, so I have experience with aggressive/protective dog behaviors. I’ve been around dogs and cats all my life and love meeting new ones all the time!

Mia was really great with taking care of my Fonzie (dog). She’s a true animal lover who’s very responsible and thoughtful in her care. I was traveling through town and needed someone last minute. She responded quickly and communicated well. I can’t thank her enough!

Mia was so great with our 1-year-old golden retriever Biscuit! She was a great match for Biscuit's energy and gave Biscuit lots of one-on-one attention. Mia was super responsive in all our communications and sent great photos and videos during Biscuit's stay. We will definitely use Mia again if we have further need for doggie day care in Ellensburg!

We were very pleased with Mia's care of our dear Mindy! Mindy's a middle aged dog who's pretty much a home body and does not get boarded out too much. My wife and I planned an overnight getaway and totally forgot about Mindy. Mia was great getting right back to us once we made that last minute request. It was a godsend and we felt totally comfortable leaving Mindy in the capable care of Mia. We would definitely use Mia again and plan a little better lead time to make our request!

Information Mia B. would like to know about your pet

Answer any that apply or that you wish to share... -Pet's personality? What fun tricks do they have if any:)? -What does your pet like to do most? -Favorite toy? -Can they be unleashed ? -How frequently they need to go out? and how long are usual walks? -Are they house/potty trained? -Are they sensitive to specific treats that I may give them? -Does your pet do well with others dogs? -Any information that you may feel is necessary to provide?

A typical day

For my dog...My routine is in the morning to let him go out for a short potty break (10min) and then return back to get him and I some breakfast (8:00am-9:00am). I then get ready for the day to let food settle, and around 11:00am I will then take him out and go for a walk around the park (by this time I will go off of his energy on if he wants to go back or still walk) then take him to a fenced off leash area to let him run around (he doesn't play fetch). Then we usually come back after 45min and relax. Then around 3:00pm and 7:00pm I will usually repeat this process (minus the feeding for 3:00) for a total of 3 walks. But with that said, every pet's energy level and needs are different, which I am 100% willing to adjust my routine to. My dog does not stress over routine changes as long as he eventually gets to go outside, so I am not too concerned for him.

I have school mainly online this quarter and have lots of open free time. Since I already have dog watching in my schedule for my little dog, I thought it would be a great opportunity to open my time up to people. This also gives me the chance to experience a variety of different personalities that I may encounter in the Vet field so I know how to treat different pets' needs individually.
