Fun on a Farm

Pet care experience

Come play on a horse farm as an honorary family member! With chickens, four horses, three dogs, an African Grey Parrot and a baby there is so much mental stimulation here that’ll benefit any dog! As a long time animal trainer, your dog will learn to be part of the pack, even if they have never been in this type of environment. My positive reinforcement training, that is part of every dogs visit, can actually help your dog feel mentally and physically relaxed! I do ongoing professional development and am currently learning to incorporate service dog training approaches- let me share these tricks with your dog and help you have a happy pup! I’m home full time and cannot wait to meet you and your dog! We welcome all breeds into our family so that you know your fur baby is getting so much more than care while your busy! Relax and let your dogs paws be in good hands!

Meredith went above and beyond to make sure our pup had an awesome day! Not only do we completely trust Meredith to take care of him, he came home with new experiences and socialization that will continue to improve his behavior. Will definitely use again in the future, and know when we leave Macintosh here, he will have a blast!

She’s always there for us. Pippa has such a nice adventure vacation when we are away.

Meredith has a calm about her that quickly put me at ease as I left Ivy in her care for a week. She understands animals and works carefully to integrate them on her farm. We felt so happy leaving our girl in a place where she could learn and experience so many new adventures(horses, parrot, adorable 2 year old human boy)!

Information Meridith P. would like to know about your pet

As your dog will be part of our home while here, we ask for friendly dogs that will be comfortable around our son (who loves dogs and is very good with them). While we can help dogs acclimate to this environment, we would prefer non-aggressive Pups please. If your dog has a high prey drive this might not be a good fit unless we work on a plan of care. We have a Great Dane spayed female who at 2 years of age loves to run and play. We also have two elder dachshunds who are like cats and ignore everyone and everything! So if your pup wants to bask in the sun, dig in some dirt, play with the Dane or *eek** sniff some poo this is a great place!!

A typical day

We love adventures and when we are at home we are constantly in and out of the house. With big open fields (partial fencing for the horses, but not secure enough for a determined wanderer), water to play in during hot days, shading places to dig holes in, and dog toys everywhere, your dog can have the best day ever! Not good off leash- no problem. With all the horse background, we have tons of ways to still keep your pup outside, on the go, and part of the activity in a safe and secure manner. Depending on where you live, if I come visit your home, I will plot routes that not just physically tire your pet but provide that critical cognitive stimulation that is so important in relaxation! Sometimes the best thing for our dogs is so much more than a mindless march along the street. Learning about your pet's personality will help me custom the experience so they have a say in it too!
