I'll treat your pet like family!
Pet care experience
I have been sitting on Rover and via word-of-mouth for the past two years. I have house sat and cared for many sweet and unique pets in that time and have loved every minute of it! I am comfortable administering medicines, going on long walks, cleaning litter boxes, tuning into and having patience with anxious pets, and just providing pleasant company to pets while families are away. I have two cats of my own as well, so I am never really out of practice when it comes to loving and caring for an animal! At the core, I am compassionate about all animals from every walk of life and I cannot wait to meet your pet! :)
Reviews
Melody has been so great with our dogs and cat. They are a bit anxious but they love when she comes to stay!
Awesome! Reliable, communicates well and great with giving meds to cats- which is no easy feat!
Wonderful! Kind, communicative, responsive and trustworthy. We will definitely be contacting Melody for our future needs with both our senior dog and cats-one of whom requires both liquid and capsule medications every 8 hours for seizures.
Melody always does a wonderful job for our cat Sasha when we need to go out of town. Can't recommend her enough!

My goal is to give your pet the same care, play, and attention as they would get with you home. I am comfortable staying overnight for pets that need that extra company, and I make sure to adhere and create enough time for getting routines and feeding/potty times as much as possible.
Information Melody S. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has a history of unexpected behaviors or aggressive tendencies I am more than willing to work with you and your pet to create enough comfort and trust before a booking (i.e. multiple meet and greets, trial stays with you nearby, etc), I just ask to know about this in advance. Also, while I'd love to care for dogs of every shape and size, I have a petite frame and cannot support much more than my own weight, so it is important for me to know if your dog is very large (100+ lbs) or tugs excessively on walks so I can be prepared or decline if it seems like I'm not the best fit.
A typical day
During a typical day, I will make sure to stick to your pet's routine, which includes plenty of time for activities and engagement (if that is a priority). I truly tailor each stay to the pet I am caring for and love to learn what games or forms of play your pet likes the most. Some of these activities include but are not limited to; extra-long walks, traveling to a nature preserve or dog park, playing fetch or hide and seek with toys/treats (for dogs), playing with laser pointers, feather wands, or catnip toys (for cats), brushing fur/hair, and (my favorite) petting and snuggling.
