I will treat dogs that stay with me as if they were in my own pack. I will be happy to facetime with owners, send pictures and updates. I will give pet parents a journal of what their dog did each day. I can give medicine and give extra care if needed. I have had a lot experience with my senior dogs and know how to care for them. I have raised and trained several puppies. I am happy to work on commands and tricks at the owner's request. I will love your dog while you are away. I can't imagine a better way to spend my days. I am a retired teacher so serving, caring and nurturing are some of my strongest qualities. I have had at least one dog throughout my life. I got my first dog, outside of family dogs growing up, when I graduated from college in 1988. Kiki was a miniature dachshund puppy. She was the first puppy I potty trained by myself. Since then I have had another dachshund, Rhodesian ridgebacks, a doberman, greyhound, Italian greyhounds, weimaraners, chiweenies and other mixed breeds. I have blended puppies and older dogs into my family pack. I have volunteered at a shelter walking, socializing, feeding and cleaning up. I also helped with showing dogs at adoption events at Petsmart, and helping families find the right dog for them. I have had several senior dogs that required special care, such as daily medications (liquid and pill), subcutaneous shots, wound care, and helping dogs with arthritis get up and move. I have worked with a wonderful trainer. I have trained 3 Canine Good Citizens. I have learned and continue to learn about dog behaviors and reading their body language.
