Pet care experience
My name is Melissa. My love for pets is what sparked me to enter the wonderful world of pet sitting. I started pet sitting when I was in elementary school, when our neighbors would go on vacation I would care for their dogs, cats, fish etc. I have had many beloved pets growing up. I understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your "kids". I grew up with a household of furry friends! Many people thought my family was crazy for having so many! But I couldn't imagine my life without them. They bring so much joy and happiness to my family's life. Seeing their little faces everyday just puts a smile on my face! I can't wait to meet you and your pets :) **COMPLEMENTRY FREE TRIAL DAY FOR BOARDING** My top priority is that the dogs I care for are safe and enjoying their time while staying with me. In order to ensure that I offer a free "trial day" before their first stay. That's where you drop your dog off, let them hang out with me for a couple hours getting a chance to get familiar with my environment. After getting to meet some new friends and lots of new smells you pick up the dog and I can fill you in on how they did. This a requirement before first stay. **HOUSE SITTING** I am currently working from home full time. Until further notice I will be home the majority of the day with your pets. I can stay with them all day most days and during the weekend but not overnight. I work from home full time so I will be with your pet pretty much all day everyday. The only time they would be left alone is if I have plans for dinner etc or need to run an errand/s I have a fenced yard and two other dogs of my own for them to play with. I try and make their stay as similar to their own environment as possible!

TL;DR: I would highly recommend Melissa and have no doubt I will reach out moving forward, presuming she is willing to watch my dog again. Thanks Melissa! I have an 81lb six month old Lab puppy (Mac) and was a bit nervous as this was my first time using Rover; but after family care plans fell through roughly a week before an out of town wedding I was attending, I was in a jam and decided to give it a try. Within a few minutes of reaching out and explaining my situation Melissa agreed to watch Mac for an hour as compatibility test two days later. This is a great idea for both parties as it ensures the pet is a good candidate to be boarded in someone else's home, and was also very convenient. Mac is up there with the energizer bunny in terms of energy, but she agreed to watch him. On Friday morning Melissa was ready for drop off when she said she would be, and was flexible with pickup on Sunday given a few variables I mentioned to her. It is important to note that out of respect for her and her time, I made sure to regularly communicate around both drop off/pickup, and would expect the same of anyone else. All in all, Melissa was always kind despite Mac's energy level, very prompt in responding from beginning to end, and regularly provided pictures/videos of him over the course of the weekend (all of which he looked very happy in). It was a major relief and I definitely prefer/recommend Rover & Melissa over a kennel!
Melissa was such a lifesaver for us! Because of Artie’s size (220lbs), he is really hard to board; most places cannot keep him! Melissa opening up her house to Artie was such a blessing! It was like sending Artie to camp! We would get updates on him frequently with his new friends! This just made our trip so much better because we knew that he was being loved and getting so much attention. Melissa has such a gift with all the pups she keeps!! Thank you, Melissa!
