Pet care experience
I've helped take care of and raise my neighbor's German Shepard for several years now, taking her for walks, feeding her, exercising her when they're not around. I've also dog/house-sat for a co-worker while they were away on vacation for their adorable Golden Retriever, and I regularly watch a golden doodle :) I also have a 2 year old German Shepherd pup of my own, and have helped my sister raise her rescue puppy for the past 3 years. They're the loves of my life <3. I absolutely adore dogs and have wanted one my whole life, yet couldn't because my father is allergic. Because of that, any opportunity I have to play with, walk, or take care of dogs makes my day! I graduated from UConn in Dec. 2015 with a degree in History and Political Science. I currently work in Hartford (on the West Hartford border) and live in Avon, so I'm willing to travel anywhere in the surroundings towns. Your furry friend couldn't be in better hands - they'll have so much fun and will be well loved and taken care of!

Melissa did a great job letting our Labradoodle and Beagle/Boston Terrier our a couple times a day while we were gone. Our labradoodle Owen appreciated her willingness to throw a frisbee and we appreciated the update pictures she sent!

I'd like to know the breed of dog before sitting, mostly just to get a size reference. The only other information I prefer to know ahead of time is if they have any medical/dietary issues (and how you prefer I handle them).
A typical day
I'll walk your dog wherever he/she likes best, as well as taking them for hikes, runs, etc. (depending on what they prefer). I'm a regular at the Simsbury dog park, and occasionally visit the Granby dog park as well, so if your puppy likes to play with other dogs, I'd happily bring them there. They can also play with my puppy as well (who's in training to be a service dog, so he's very well behaved). Frisbee, throwing balls, running, playing catch/fetch - anything they like to do, I'll have a blast doing with them.
