Pet care experience
I grew up with animals and started walking and working with dogs around age 12. Since then, I have taken care of friends', neighbors', and family pets, providing walks/exercise, feeding, training, grooming, and administering medications when needed. I have experience with dogs with behavior issues such as leash reactivity and resource guarding, and have walked dogs up to 130 lbs.

Melissa is really great and my dog loves her! Melissa is very responsive and helped me out on short notice. She even made the time to first meet my dog prior to taking her out on a walk. Melissa has watched our cat a few times and has been a wonderful sitter. Highly recommend! She's easy going, follows instructions, great communicator, etc. Our cat instantly made friends with her. Everything you could ask for in a pet sitter!

Please let me know of any food allergies/dietary restrictions your pet has, as well as any behavior issues. I have experience with many of these issues and am willing to be flexible to accommodate your pet's needs. I would also love to know how your dog interacts with other dogs/people, if they do well off leash, and any specific activities they enjoy.
A typical day
There are miles of trails and several parks within walking distance in my neighborhood. I love to take dogs on hikes (depending on their comfort and ability), play fetch at the park, or go swimming at the lake during the summer. On rainy days, I supplement walks with indoor activities such as hide and seek, puzzle toys, or scent games.

Availability
I am in between jobs so have open availability during the week. I sometimes have rehearsals and other commitments in the evenings between 6-9pm. As an active, outdoorsy person I would love to take your pet on scenic walks, hikes, or any other adventures they are comfortable with. Not sure if our schedules are compatible?
