Pet care experience
I have a variable work schedule, and some days am away from 6-8 hours. For this reason, I unfortunately cannot care for puppies on weekdays. Wednesdays in particular are long for me, so if Wednesday is included in your stay it would have to only be if the stay is starting at night or ending in the morning (unless you are able to make arrangements for someone to visit mid-day). On Saturdays and Sundays, I am usually away for 4.5 hours mid-day. I live on the west side of Providence within walking distance of a dog park. I have one very friendly dog who loves other dogs, and TWO CATS who tolerate him just fine :) they are all family members to me. I have experience administering oral medication and subcutaneous fluids. I also have experience with old dogs who have trouble walking. I regularly take my dog to the dog parks, the woods, and the ocean! Between me any my partner, there is someone home almost all of the time. I am great at following rules and training regimens, and enforcing boundaries. I was a professional dog walker and pet sitter for 3 years in Chicago. I would take care of animals in my home or theirs!

Melissa is awesome. She stayed with our doggos and kitty at our place while we went out of town which was incredibly helpful as our pups have some anxiety with new places and other dogs. She sent us daily updates and pictures.
Melissa was great with Milly, our chihuahua. She sat Milly at our house on fairly short notice, especially considering it was over the holiday season. We received regular updates from Melissa while we were away, including pictures, and Milly seemed very chipper when we returned. Milly is especially difficult with new people so the fact that they got along was very comforting to us.
Melissa was wonderful with my two pit bulls over a long weekend away! So great to find someone who took great care of them in my home. Would recommend her highly and definitely have her take care of my babies again!
They took great care of Gus. He loved playing with her dog too.

When taking care of a dog in my home, all that I ask is that your dog is great with other dogs and cats and is not an excessive barker. I live in an apartment with a relatively noisy hallway, so a dog that barks at every noise might not be the best fit. An occasional bark while playing or if someone knocks on the door is fine, though! When taking care of a dog in your home, anything goes! I have experience with and can handle just about any size and temperament of dog. I would prefer a situation where I can bring my dog along, but that is negotiable.
A typical day
Your dog will sleep in my bed if they want to, on the couches, or in the dog bed. It's up to you and/or the dog! We will go on at least 3 walks a day. I regularly take my dog to the dog park, woods, and ocean and am more than willing to bring your dog along if you would like! I will keep your dog in as close to his or her regular routine as I can. We will go on his or her favorite walking routes, sit in their favorite spots in the house, and watch their favorite movies together. I'm great at following pre-set routines and following rules, boundaries, and training regimens.
