I’ve been a dog owner for the last 13 years. I often care for pets belonging to family and friends. Pets become family and I treat them as they are because I have my own fur baby at home that I adore and care for. I have taken care of dogs of all ages including newborn puppies and senior dogs. Any size dog is a friend to me because each and every one deserves love. I am experienced in bathing, feeding, walking, and taking your fur babies to appointments if needed. I really enjoy looking after and playing with dogs and have been doing so since I was younger and that will never change :). Your fur babies are in good hands with me as I am committed to excellence in pet sitting and dedication.

Mel took great care of Donovan, my sweet Husky. My husband and I were anxious about finding someone new to watch him when our last pet sitter retired from home visits but Mel’s ambition, care, and reliability has exceeded our expectations. Donovan is the biggest sweetheart but can be a bit mouthy at times and has separation anxiety which can scare some sitters away. Luckily Melissa is not the girl who runs from new experiences, she spent so much time with him to assure he wouldn’t be alone while we were away at weddings and weekend trips; my hubby and I will never forget that. She is a keeper!
A few years ago I was in a predicament and needed a dog sitter for the next day, I asked my daughter if she had any friends that could come check on our dogs when I work late. She recommended Melissa and she was a life saver. She was able to come the next day to look after them and has been visiting our dogs ever since. She works with my crazy schedule and helps with extra things like bringing in the mail, leaving my front porch light when it gets dark and buying dog food when we run out. Most importantly, my dogs are safe with her and love her and we look forward to her visits whenever needed. Thank you Melissa!!

As soon as I met Melissa I knew she was the right fit to take care of Cobalt. My pit has always had a keen radar on people and when we did our first meet and greet, Cob practically showered her with licks which are her form of kisses. Over the time she has came to dog sit, Cob has had so much fun with her and greets her with one of his toys when she comes in. Melissa makes my family and I feel secure that she will do everything in our best interest while they are together.

My aim as a pet sitter is to provide excellent care to your pet, communicate effectively with you and make the experience as pleasant as possible for everyone all around. I would like to know what you and your doggie are comfortable with whether it’s check-ins throughout the day, walks, or just play time inside. I can do lengthy or short visits. In my experience I have done a lot of care for dogs when their owners have gone on vacation for the week or need to leave their pets for an extended amount of time. I have also done multiple visits throughout the day if it’s casual care while owners at work depending on what they would like. For me the best experiences were when I got a great understanding of pertinent information, including emergency contacts, veterinarian information, feeding instructions, alarm codes, pet behavior, etc before caring for pets. I do well with texts, calls or in person discussing these factors as I am aware of people’s busy schedules. All in all I make sure to keep pets as comfortable and happy, maintaining their day to day schedule as much as possible.

Availability
I’m currently working part time, but my job is flexible with my hours so I can pick what times work best for both worlds. I will make sure I have plenty of time for your pups! Im available for dog walking, drop-ins, and house sitting on weekdays anytime after 4pm. As I get a feel for the app, I will eventually love to provide boarding. I have a large backyard that your pet will enjoy. I spend a lot of time outside in my garden, so your dog will get plenty of outdoor time, and if your dog is the kind that likes some lay back and cuddle time inside I will put on a movie and make sure they are comfortable. My dog is really small, so I prefer boarding other small dogs. I look forward to welcoming and caring for your pet!
