Hello! I am an avid animals lover. I graduated with a degree in hopes to work with animals in the wild. I have experience with administering medication, as well as training and I live near a park. I have always had animals growing up; had many dogs, cats, lizards, fish and many more. My love for animals goes beyond just a pet, they are family to me and I will treat your animals as part of my family too. I have been able to work with dogs in a professional setting as well as other animals such as large carnivores to hoofstock and small insects. By day one each and every animal takes a hold of my heart and I will always do everything in my power to care for, love and nurture you animals.

Melissa is absolutely fabulous! She took amazing care of our puppy golden doodle for a week! Trips to the dog park, doggy spa baths, and extra snuggles were just some of the perks our pup enjoyed under her care. When we got home from our trip Rudy was happy and clean! We will be using her again for our next trip as she has my trust. Melissa is a dog whisperer folks.
This was my first time using Melissa and my dog seemed to do great with her. Bitsy has to take medicine twice a day and Melissa administered them with no issues. She also sent a couple of cute pictures from the stay too :)
Melissa was wonderful with my shy older dog. She was very caring and attentive my dog's temperment and gave her lots of TLC. She was also very accommodating to my sudden change in schedule. Highly recommend this great gal.
Melissa was great in every way. When dropping our my puppy for our initial stay, she was very warm, confident, and reassuring. I can tell she really has a heart for animals. She has an ideal situation with one very sweet dog of her own, a nice fenced yard with grass (yay!) and an attentive and compassionate way with dogs. When I picked up my dog 10 hours later, she was relaxed, mellow, happy, and tired from playing. Melissa is very responsive, communicates well, and very easy to engage with. I will definitely use her in the future.

I do prefer to take care of animals at my home as I do have animals of my own, however I completely understand if animals are aggression, scared or simply don't like being around others. I do like taking my own dog on a walk quite often as well as taking him to dog parks. My dog does listen off lease therefore if needed I can just have your dog on a leash. I also love hanging out in the house and playing with the animals as well as cuddling and I also do training on my animals and am willing to maintain any behaviors you want for your animals.

A typical day
Dog parks! The lake. Playing fetch inside and outside the house. I love going on walks around my neighborhood as well as around Gage park.

Availability
I am currently working as a full time carnivore Keeper at the Topeka Zoo. I work Saturday- Wednesday 7am-4pm and am off Thursdays and Fridays.
