Our dogs had a great time playing at Melissa's house, and we enjoyed seeing pictures of them playing every day. Her fenced yard is perfect for running around in, and her dogs are very good with other dogs. Melissa is very kind with dogs, and responsive to owner concerns and instructions. We will be happy to book with her again.

She loves dogs and it shows . I appreciated the photos she sent. Melissa is very flexible with drop off and pick up times and if the dates changes slightly. I have used her twice so far for my Westie and would recommend her.

This stay, Freyja was away from home for the longest time since we got her -- nine days. From the pictures we got from Melissa, she had fun wrestling, looking out over the yard, and resting in the shade. Melissa watches the perfect size and temperament of dogs for our 40 lb girl to have a great time.

Home all day! Let's Play!

I've always had dogs in my life; I can't imagine a day without them. Their empathy, warmth, and deep, lasting love is invaluable. In fact, my dogs were my greatest allies on the path to recovery after my car accident a couple of years ago. Charlie and Hank saw me through each challenge as I shifted career paths and became an artist: illustrating children's books, painting wildlife, and creating pet portraits. Love, communication, and unconditional ...

What Melissa would like to know about your dog

I’ll start with arranging a meet-and-greet and talk through all of your goals and your pup’s needs and special concerns. How can I make the stay most successful, not only for your dog, but for you as well? I’m an excellent communicator, and I take listening very seriously. I want to know everything that’s relevant in terms of the dog’s history, personality, and health status. What worries do you have, and how can I ease them? Are there behavioral issues you’re working through that I can provide support for? Socially, what are your dog’s experiences and preferences? I want you to be fully reassured that my home is a great fit for your pup before the stay even begins--and send you lots of updates while you’re away, too!

When Melissa watches your pet

I'm a morning person and work from home. That means we're up with the sun, and out for our first potty break before breakfast. Hank and Michael eat in the morning and at night. I’ll follow your dog’s schedule, so he can eat at the same time as them or separately. While I work, the dogs have their own sofa nearby to lay on, or they can play with toys. There's also always room on my lap for the little guys! I get up and move often for my health, so after an hour or two we're all up and playing. We’ll go out for a potty break, and stay outside to play if the weather is nice. Otherwise, time for an indoor romp! When I can, I set up my art supplies on the deck and we spend the whole day outside enjoying the weather.

When the sun goes down, we have cozy cuddle time, and Hank and Michael eat dinner. At night, we all pile into my bed. Your pup can also choose his own dog bed if he likes independence. Throughout the day, there’s plenty of opportunity to be social with me and the dogs, or to sit in a corner with a favorite chew toy. Michael is always ready to play but not everyone is, so I always make sure there’s a place to get away from the action.
