Thank you for checking out my Rover profile! I have 24+ years of caring for pets of all species and sizes, from Beta Fish to Horses! I'm mom to Duchesse (Border Collie) and Kiki (an adventure cat). I serve McKinley Park Area, Boulevard Park and some parts of Midtown.

I don't know what I would do without Melissa, she takes such good care of my little Winston. He's a foster and has a tendency to be a little bit nervous at times, but he warmed up to her right away. He loves his walks with his friends as much as I love receiving the pictures she sends me. They make my day. Melissa is extremely responsive to texts, takes the dogs on different walks so they never get bored, gives updates as to how my dog did on the walk, and is usually available last minute (I try not to do that to her but sometimes I need to ask for a favor and she's able to accommodate). I can't recommend her enough! 10/10
Melissa is a god send! She takes amazing care of my puppy and with such energy, knowledge, and joy. She shares full reports of their time together, offers assessments about how hes developing, sends photos of their activities, and seems to always have a fun story to share from the day. Melissa is very kind, flexible, organized and easy to get along with. Im so grateful for her!
Hello my name is Ardelle(Red), Melissa is one of the most loving dog care givers that I know. She is very attentive and observant when caring for my Draco, as well as the other dogs in her care. She has been my dog’s caregiver for almost a year. Her schedule is very flexible, and she has ALWAYS been available for me. When my dog returns from Melissa I’m sure he thinks I’m the laziest dog owner. I say this to say Melissa walks her dogs a few times a day on a very good schedule. She also sends very AWESOME pictures and videos of their daily walks while in her care, which I truly look forward to seeing. Melissa truly loves animals and they love her even more. Melissa was prompt, a great communicator and took good care of Momo on his hour long walk. She also sent pics and a summary of the walk.

For walks, I'll confirm via text either the evening before or morning of. I'll show up solo or with a group, if your dog is friendly with other dogs (we'll iron that out prior to first walk). I practice safe dog-walking by connecting your dogs leash to a climbing-grade carabiner to my hip pack which is fully loaded with kibble, dog bags and water/bowls. We will walk for 30-60 minutes, carefully abiding pedestrian laws, anticipating for traffic, other dog walkers, squirrels, hazards and distractions. I communicate verbally and by leash tugs with your dog, directing them away from hazards and incentivize good behavior with kibble (Taste of the Wild Grain Free). After our walk, I will secure your dog at home, following instructions and locking your door when I leave. I provide a detailed update including potty status, concerns, walk time/distance and pictures after every walk. I check the weather prior to our walk and will show up rain or shine to make sure your pup gets their exercise and social time in!

A typical day
With your okay, I will walk them for a good portion of our time together. If they need more exercise, we can play fetch. If it's too hot or they need a rest, we can chill together and watch the birds, play-tug-of war, have a mini grooming session or play hide and seek. I incentivize good behavior like proper leash etiquette and "checking in" (eye contact) with compliments and kibble - mine or yours (I feed mine only the best: Taste of the Wild Ancient Grains). For an additional rate, I'll even walk your dog to Splash Dog for a bath and a blow out!
