Welcome! My name is Melissa and I am a recent graduate who has a hybrid work schedule. I have a small pup (a foster failure) who is very well behaved and gets along with all other animals. I previously owned a dog for 15 years until he passed. In addition, I was on the vet track and have worked at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the biggest non-kill animal shelter in the country. I’ve worked with special needs animals as well as rehabilitating abused and neglected animals. I am apt in handling any dog type and breed. I have traveled to developing countries to help with animal populations, including minor surgeries, injections, etc.

Melissa was AMAZING with our two mini aussies. My now husband and I had never left them for as long as we did before (2 weeks) and it was really nerve wrecking at first to leave my aussies with someone we barely knew. Melissa understood this and was empathetic to our situation. We met up with both of our dogs to see if they would interact well with each other, and now it’s like they created their own little pack and are the best of friends! Melissa spoke to us daily, sent pictures and videos and reassured us as many times as we needed that our pups were okay. The pups relationship with one another is so strong that Melissa and I are going to make sure they get to hang out from time to time! It was a pleasure to have her in our home, which she treated as her own, and loved our pups just like we would. We were able to focus on marrying one another knowing that our pups were having fun on a hike, enjoying daily snuggles or group-zoomies at the dog park. Looking elsewhere for a dog sitter would simply be a waste of time, Melissa is wonderful and we couldn’t recommend her enough!

Also if they have any specific schedules or difficulties on daily movement, walks, etc. If they are shy or scared it’s good to know before the first meet so I can adjust my body language and behavior. Please make sure to include current vaccinations and preventatives they are on.
A typical day
I love taking dogs on long walks, hikes (with approval), playing at parks, and am pretty much the typical dog mom that is happy to bring friendly dogs with me anywhere.

I am happy to accommodate and adjust to your schedule or other needs for your pet, just let me know in advance so we can discuss it. I wake up early and love going for walks and runs. I am happy to bring your dog with me on hikes or to the dog park with your consent. I enjoy living a life that allows a lot of exercise and outdoor activity.
