I spent hours researching walkers and chose Melissa due to her reviews. I own several small businesses so I am loathe to give a bad review but this time I simply cannot let her off the hook. We booked Melissa for 2 weeks worth of daily walks. She did two walks successfully even though our rescue bulldog is a skiddish and challenging guy at first. So she has great skills no doubt. However, on the 3rd of July I asked her specifically if she was working on the 4th and she confirmed. Then around an hour before the scheduled walk I got a message saying that her mom had flown in and surprised her and so she would not be showing up. Thank goodness I was home and that I received the message. I chalked it up to youthful flightiness and a holiday one off. Then on the evening of the 5th I found out she did not show up again. If my partner had not come home randomly the dog would have been forced to stay for 10 hours without a walk and we were not even notified so we could make alternate plans! To me this is like a babysitter leaving a baby and going out with her friends. Yes I feel like that about my dog. I had to reach out to Melissa and ask via text "what happened today" and she replied back in truly Trumpian truthfulness "I was admitted to the hospital yesterday and could not get to my phone but I'll come tomorrow." So many things wrong with this even if it were true. I simply wrote back and said "two strikes." which under the circumstances I felt was quite restrained. She then wrote back and said "this is wildly inappropriate and I'm calling Rover to cancel all future bookings." I don't think she reads Shakespeare but perhaps she can look up the reference to protesting too much. It's not fair for me not to warn others so I very reluctantly am doing so.

Melissa is the ideal sitter! Our pup Hudson is in love with her. He is a 5 month old who can be a handful and she did a great job helping continue to potty train him and taking him outside to play w other dogs. Looking forward to working w Melissa again!
