Pet care experience
I love animals and grew up always having a pet in my life, so I know how much they become family. I have had pet cats since I was 6 years old and have taken care of various friends' and families' dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and even a chinchilla. I have my own 14 year old black cat named Binx (from Hocus Pocus) and a kitten named Belle. While I have never owned a dog (not without lack of trying growing up - my father always said no), I do love dogs and have both walked and taken care of dogs throughout my lifetime. However, my husband's parents have always owned a dog, as well as my sister-in-law, whom I have watched on occasion. As a result, I have been pretty much surrounded by animals all of my life. I have also volunteered at an animal shelter and my sister is currently working as a manager in an animal shelter, who I will occasionally ask for advice or help on various subjects.

Unfortunately, I am unable to board any animals, but can and will in an emergency situation. However, for cats, I typically will feed them first and refill any water bowls, then scoop their litter, if required. The rest of the visit is spent either playing or giving pets and attention. For dog sittings and/or walking, I usually take the dog out first or take them immediately on a walk, then give them food and refresh their water if required. If any time remains, I then fill it with pets and scratches or playing, depending on the dog and circumstances.

Please tell me about what your dog’s personality is like. Do they like treats? Do they tend to run for the door? Are they skittish? Do they need some extra love? Do they like to jump? Do they pull on the leash? I want to make sure that I am covering all of your dog’s needs. Please provide me with any vet information in advance so that I can make sure your fur baby is well cared for in an emergency.
A typical day
I love to run and go for long walks, so I will happily take your fur baby on half-hour to hour long trips around the neighborhood. I like to let the dog dictate the route on each walk.

I am a graduate student who frequently works from home, so I am usually available during the week, but most available on weekends. This spring I am available every day during both the week and weekend.
