Pet care experience
We are dog (and cat) lovers from way back! I’ve had a horse, hamsters, birds, up to four cats at a time, and several beloved dogs. I really love walking a dog. We are a retired couple living in a great walking neighborhood with an acre lot with part of it fenced. We currently have a 14 year/old cat, 13-year old female diabetic miniature Schnauzer and a 4 year old male Westie that accept friendly visiting dogs. We’ll spoil your furry kid! We do our best to make your beloved dog feel at home. We are comfortable giving insulin shots and other medications if your dog is used to them. We have a fenced in yard and a great neighborhood for walks. I may also be available for house sitting if it’s a few days and not too far of a drive. If you book with us, your dog will become part of our dog-loving household and we will keep you updated so your time away is without worry!

We were so happy with Melissa and Jim, took such good care of our little sweetheart. Kept us informed and sent lovely pictures of our girl.. Even got a little handmade doggy gift bag when we picked our dog up. ?? We would recommend them highly and plan on using them again.

These Rover.com dog sitters were fantastic! They are truly caring and knowledgeable dog lovers. We were out of the country and had not boarded our Sheepadoodle anywhere for an extended period. We never worried about her care with Melissa and James. We got frequent updates about Lola’s day, Melissa made homemade dog treats, James exercised Lola daily with ball throwing activity in their ideal fenced back yard. Our dog is very energetic but they handled her needs perfectly. We will definitely use Melissa and James again with no reservations. Thanks to both of them.

Safety for our dog guests, our pets and humans is our top priority! Proof of up-to-date vaccinations should be shared two weeks before boarding begins to ensure time to address any missing inoculations. We want to know what makes your dog comfortable and what causes him or her stress (besides not being with you and/or at home!) Also any clues on how to read mood. What’s the signal to go out? What kind of play do they like? What’s their bedtime ritual? Feeding and treat schedule? We’ll do whatever we can to make them happy while in our care! Dogs who are potty and crate-trained are highly preferred since it isn’t ideal for them or our cat and dog to have free roam in an unfamiliar place overnight or when we have to be away for short periods.
A typical day
We have a quiet neighborhood close to woodland areas so there are lots of great smells for your dog.
