Pet care experience
I grew up on a ranch and I have always had dogs growing up that varied in size and breed. My job when I was little was to feed and take care of the dogs, cats, and the horses, so I have been caring for dogs for quite some time. I will be available weekdays and most weekends. I have two dogs of my own here in Three Forks that I raised and trained myself. I have an Australian Shepherd (10-years-old), a Pembroke Welsh Corgi (5-years-old), and a Heeler/Husky mix (4-years-old). I love and respect dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I am very respectful towards their family because I myself know that dogs are not just pets they are family. I am a very active person, so your dogs would get the exercise and attention they deserve and need. I served 4+ years in the United States Navy before going back to school. My time in the service taught me to be respectful, hard-working, dependable, punctual, and always go above and beyond of what is asked of me. I will treat your dogs like they are my own family.

Melissa was fabulous! We came to Yellowstone on vacation thinking we might find some place to board our two little Chihuahua's during the day since dogs aren't allowed on the trails etc. Unfortunately, there were no places to board our dogs in West Yellowstone. We turned to Rover and found Melissa who was able to take care of our boys with less than 24 hours notice. Melissa sent us pictures of how much fun they were having throughout the day and when we got back it was almost like they didn't want her to leave. Thank you Melissa!
Melissa watched over our little farm with such care. We even received pictures while we were away. She was easy to get a hold of and everyone was content and happy when we returned. We will definitely reach out to her if we ever need a sitter again. Thanks Melissa!
I met Melissa after recently moving here to Montana needing a roommate. One of the deciding factors moving in was that it was just her and her two dogs... an Australian Shepherd (Kora) and a Corgi puppy named Boots. I quickly connected with the dogs (and Melissa's pretty cool too, I guess), but I did notice her fair, objective approach to handling dogs, whether they were hers or not. She puts forth obvious love, care, and affection for them which, of course, is expected and admirable, but also has an authority presence when achieving a desired result. If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs I MUST know ahead of time, so I can plan their walks accordingly. I usually walk dogs where other dogs may be, so if they are aggressive I will find alternative routes to walk where there is a slim chance of running into other dogs.
A typical day
Some fun activities I like to do are taking dogs on the trails around Three Forks. The pups have a chance to run wild and if it is hot they can play around in the river and cool down.
