Stay-At-Home Rover Mom

Pet care experience

About this sitter: Hello! We're a family of four with our Wheaten, Clover. We recently and suddenly lost our Wheaten Terrier, Lexi. She was everything to us. Albeit bias, she was perfect for us and completed our family. She was the foundation of our Rover experience. She helped us welcome so many dogs into our home. It wasn’t possible without her. While we are heartbroken, our house is not a home with a dog. Our home is always open, just as Lexi would’ve wanted. We brought home Clover 11/2021 and she’s shared her home since the very first weekend we had her. She is a true Wheaten and her Greetin’s tend to be excitable in the beginning, but we promise she does calm down. While we love our NYC upbringing (and the origin of our Rover experience eight years ago) we just moved to Sparta, NJ as of 2020! We happily host our previous dogs and welcome new dogs from the New Jersey area! We both come from growing up in homes that have always had dogs. All of them were small toy breeds but once we had the opportunity to have our own, we opted for a medium size Wheaten Terrier. We love dogs of all sizes and breeds and hope to have another larger dog in the future. We have been on Rover since November 2014. As of 12/20/22, we just celebrated our 175th dog in our care! With 175 different dogs later and many who come back to us, we are incredibly happy to be a part of a great service. We genuinely love and care for each dog we have over, as if they were our own. About my home We live in a two floor bi-level house with a front and back yard, both unfenced. Our street is quiet and good for walking. My experience administering medication We met on the job as medic/first responders so we are comfortable with almost any medical care. Our last wheaten received insulin twice a day so we are familiar with any diabetic dogs.

My husband and I (and Daisy Jane, too) were thrilled with the care and attention that Daisy Jane received with Melissa and her family while we were away. It was nothing short of Daisy being at home with us. If you are looking for attentive, loving care for your four-legged family member, rest assured that he or she will be in the best of care.

Melissa was amazing! She took such great care of Roxie on our wedding day and sent me pictures throughout the time she spent there. I would book her again!

Information Melissa Q. would like to know about your pet

We're comfortable with any breed, but they must get along with our fuzzy one. She's incredibly friendly and playful so we can only host dogs who get along with other dogs. When you first meet her, she will be so excited but after 10 minutes, she regains her composure and acts like a proper little lady.

A typical day

Because we just had the baby, our stroller walks mean I can only take one pup at a time. Which isn’t a bad thing! It gives them a break from Clover and a little one on one time. We do not take dogs off leash but our favorite trails are at Kittatinny and Sparta Glen.

I’m truly a stay at home dog mom! We have a toddler in school and just had a baby, so we don’t travel too far or out for too long. We’re able to go for walks 3-4 times a day, especially when it’s nice out.
