I've been around and cared for dogs of all sizes throughout my life. One of my childhood dogs was a very sweet Rottweiler, and I learned from her how much a dog can love if they are loved in return. I have previously worked in behavior therapy with children with special needs. This background gives me a unique combination of behavioral education and experience, as well as a great deal of patience, flexibility, and an active, fun-loving approach to daily life. I previously owned two very active Australian Shepherds and trained both dogs myself with "clicker" training. Training them taught me so much about the importance of being consistent and firm but loving with my animals. Before Rover, I watched dogs for family, friends, and as part of a babysitting package when the family dogs needed some TLC while I watched the kids. I've cared for puppies as young as 6 weeks and senior dogs up to 15 years Some of the dogs I have watched have had varying heath issues, including glaucoma, partial and full blindness, dermatitis, lymphoma and lameness, as well as temporary issues like upset tummy's and kennel cough.
