Hello! John & I have been caring for dogs at our home for about 6 years. We had our daughter 3 years ago and took a break from Rover but we are back and ready to help out your family. We love dog sitting and treat each dog as if they were our own. We are also available for drop-ins if you need us to check in on your pup, feed them or walk them. We want you to feel comfortable and at peace knowing your dog is in good hands. About Me: Melissa- Originally from Florida. Moved to Seattle in 2015. Grew up with dogs and love caring for them. Started working for Rover because I know how difficult it was for my family finding a reliable & caring sitter for our dog when we were out of town and I thought it would be great to offer that help to others. My Husband and I truly treat each dog like our own. Our Home: We live in a spacious home in Kent with a fenced backyard. We have plenty of space for your pup to freely enjoy the yard. Our neighborhood is very quiet and has a park across the street for your dog to enjoy running around. We have a 3 year old daughter who loves dogs and does well with them. She is really gentle and caring with dogs. We ask that you know your dog is ok with kids prior to requesting us. We want your dog to be safe but we also want our child to stay safe too. Our schedule: Melissa: Currently employed full time as an Audiologist at the Veterans Hospital Monday-Thursdays. Home by 5:00pm. I do not work Friday-Sunday’s. Anytime I am not working I am 100% commited to the pup. John: Works in property management Mon-Fri . Works from home until 11am and returns back to the house by 4pm. Dogs are never left alone for more than 4-5 hours Monday- Thursday. We are happy to schedule a meet and greet prior to you making a decision. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. They were wonderful with bruiser! Their 3 1/2 year old daughter was gentle with him & respectful. They also made sure to send me adorable pics of him and updates on how he’s doing.
Melissa and her family are warm, kind, attentive and treated Dubs like their own. We knew Dubs was in good hands. So grateful for their care during this holiday season while my wife and I visited family out of town. Dubs enjoyed the sun in their spacious backyard and comforting cuddles on the couch. Melissa noticed Dubs needed some help climbing onto the couch since he has shorter legs and gave him a perfect sized step stool. Couldn’t be happier and would not hesitate to seek their care again. Melissa and her family were wonderful with our dog! Rooney has some anxiety and is reactive to other dogs, and Melisa handled her issues perfectly! They went above and beyond to make sure their home/yard were set up to mitigate any possibility Rooney might react to the other dogs in the neighborhood. Rooney is almost never calm and relaxed when we pick her up from a new sitter for the first time, but she was clearly very comfortable with Melissa! We would definitely book with her again!

A typical day
Lots of neighborhood walks, time at the park, dog parks if allowed by owner and play time in the fenced backyard. We go hiking often, we are happy to take your pup too.

Availability
Melissa works 4 10 hour days with Friday-Sundays off. John works 5 days a week flexible hours and most from home. Your dog will not be home alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time. On the weekends they will be with us the whole time.
