The Purr-fect Home Away From Home

Pet care experience

Hi there! I'm Melissa. A little about me: Some days I use my "pet momma voice" more than my regular voice and I think I'm better for it. I have more pictures in my phone of animals than people. I'm am a lover of all furbabies. I'm a long-time pet owner and rescuer of dogs, cats, possums, birds, and any other creatures God puts in my path to be loved. I have personal and professional experience with: * Litter-Training and Potty/Kennel Training * Caring for animals with special needs/mature animals and those needing extra care and attention after surgeries. * I’m confident with most pet personalities. I strive to make your furbaby feel comfortable and at home in my home or yours. Whether that's lots of play, cuddles, treats, and tricks or a quiet refuge, a bright window, and a comfy bed! I aim to please both my guests and their loving pet parents! !

I was super nervous to board him for an extended period (10 days) with someone he hasn't met before. Melissa made my pup's stay as comfortable as possible and he did not make it easy for her. He was scared of something in her yard and didn't want to go outside the first few days. She took him outside multiple times and to the dog park to make sure he got his exercise and potty. I got plenty of updates how he was doing that helped me relax and not worry about him. She even sent him home with some treats.

Absolutely the best person I could ever ask for to watch my 2 cats. I had a long business trip and needed to find someone quick. She is very accommodating and understands and listens to me and understands my cat’s needs. I will absolutely recommend her to anyone in the future. Thank you so much for your love and support of animals. ♥️

Melissa is THE BEST!!!!! She’s extremely accommodating and professional and will treat your animal as if it were her own. I was worried about leaving my cat with anyone as she can be a lot to handle at just 10 months (ball of energy / always sprinting around, annoyingly vocal, tries her hardest to go outside, and will often draw blood when trying to “play”). While not ideal, Melissa’s sweet soul loved and cared for her through it with the best attitude! She kept my worries at ease with daily videos, pics and updates that brought me so much joy. I can’t say enough good things about her and am so glad I found her ☺️ Trust me when I say she is the best there is!

We hit the jackpot when we found Melissa! We got frequent updates and photos, and Izzy made friends (human and feline) during her stay. Thank you!!!

The inside of my duplex where my furbaby visitors will be staying is stair/danger-free which I know is especially important to my senior guests. It's also cozy and easy to navigate to and from designated potty zones in the house or the yard. If watching multiple felines, I can provide distinct, quiet comfortable spaces, litter boxes, and feeding areas. Cats and small dogs also have the run of the home and can hang out wherever they prefer. I aim to provide a clean, chemical-free, fragrance-free environment for your pet. Information Melissa B. would like to know about your pet

* How does your cat or small dog get along with other cats and dogs? * What does a perfect day look like to your pet? * Does your baby have any triggers that make them more anxious? What is one thing you do that helps to calm them? * Where do they like to sleep- on the bed or on the floor at night? If they're crate-trained, do they like to stay in the kennel if I go anywhere? * Does your pet child have any quirks that are normal for them but may alarm a caregiver, like weird noises or breathing, skin abnormalities, or any out-of-the-ordinary behaviors I should be aware of? * Allergies? Pain? Previous injuries? Special needs? Special diet/feeding times?

A typical day

CATS: I let my feline friends dictate what they want to do since they always do better when they are in charge. Although I do try to make it a point to have routine playtime with cats either together depending on temperament or separate as needed. I have lots of toys, gadgets, and laser pointers to get in their daily exercise but I'm also happy to give them space and let them tinker around the house or find a great place to take a cat nap. SMALL DOGS: I love to take my little buddies outside on-leash and play in the yard or head to the dog park just down the street (if that's okay with mom and dad).
