Pet care experience
I’ve lived with or cared for other’s dogs and cats for 18 years. I am a world traveler who wishes to have a pet of her own. But since I travel often, I instead care for the dogs and cats of my friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors when I am home. I have also been a member of Trusted Housesitters since 2022 so that I can care for pets in their homes wherever I may be in the world. I am very attuned to the needs of animals. I grew up with a dog that had separation anxiety and learned how to calm him whenever we left home. I am also very respectful of owners preference of care for their animals. I will always listen and support you and your animal’s needs. I am an active person, so I love going for walks and being outside. I have cared for labradors, pitbulls, Shiba Inu’s, terriers, beagles, greyhounds, border collies, and many mixes. I love all dogs and kitties, big and small, and have the gift of connecting with animals and making them feel safe and loved.

Melissa was fantastic! She took care of my dog and cat for two weeks. I always feel nervous especially in the beginning of trip. With Melissa I felt very easy from the get-go. My pets were warmed up with her kind persona. She sent me videos and photos for update. I know my Coton de Tuléar is high maintenance for brushing, but Melissa did a great job. She was very responsible, caring and loving. I will book her again.
Melissa has watched our chihuahua mix and indoor/outdoor cat on several occasions for our family. She always keeps great communication and shares lots of pics and videos which the kids love. One time our flight was delayed, and she was flexible enough to stay longer than expected. Also, I swear the house is always cleaner than how we left it when we get home. Highly recommend her!
Melissa has pet sat for me many times over the years and I trust her implicitly with my fur baby, Elle and my home. When my pup is with Melissa I feel completely comfortable and confident that she is happy and loved. I get frequent updates whenever Melissa is watching her, and it is always evident that my pup is having a great time. You can tell that Melissa has a genuine love for animals. Whenever I return from a trip my pup is happy to see me, but she is always sad when she realizes Melissa is leaving. My husband and I joke that the dog likes her more than she likes us. I would recommend Melissa with full confidence and with the knowledge that she will provide the best care for someone’s home and animal(s).
Melissa was amazing! She stayed at our house with our pup Kira (Aussie Shepherd Mix) for 7 days and kept me updated with how she was doing every day! It was so nice to see how happy Kira was in the photo and video updates. My dog is large, takes special drops in her food, and is sometimes difficult to walk around outside with other dogs but Melissa handled everything so well with no issues. When we arrived home everything was clean and Kira looks so happy and healthy! We will definitely be using her regularly for any dog sitting when we are out of town and I highly recommend her to anyone! :)

Physical and mental stimulation is so important! Depending on your dog’s breed and age we’ll go on long walks or hikes, play with toys, and practice commands with treat rewards.
