I've always had animals growing up, everything from hamsters to horses and everything in between. Dogs hold a special place in my heart, and since I currently do not have any pets (yet) I will treat your animal as if they were my own. I am comfortable administering medication and caring for multiple animals at a time; most of my experience includes caring for 2+ dogs. I love going for long walks so your animal will be well cared for while you are away. I believe pet sitting is the best option when parents are away as it allows the animals to maintain their daily routines and provides a familiar, comfortable environment. When pet sitting it's not one dog fits all, I want to learn the ins and outs of every dog I meet. From personal experience, my parent's dog is allergic to pretty much everything so he is not allowed any human food and has special treats. But if you usually feed your pet a piece of ham while making a sandwich I will as well. If they have any special routines I will be sure to follow them. Once while pet sitting, the dogs had to sit still for 5 sec before I put their harnesses on for their walk; or they had to do a special trick to get a treat.
A typical day
I love going for long walks/runs in the morning or evening. Typically I will walk a few blocks in the neighborhood depending where the dog is used to walking. If you prefer dog parks or walking trails I can accommodate as well. If your dog does not enjoy walks, we can play fetch in the backyard or tug inside. Either way I'm friendly and energetic and can play however your pet prefers.
