Pet care experience
I’ve been a dog owner my entire adult life and have been sitting others dogs for years. My dog recently passed, I’m not ready for another of my own just yet, but I’d love for yours to stay with me! I miss the pitter patter of paws and would genuinely love the company. I enjoy getting to know each one and their unique personality. Some of my favorite “people” are dogs!! Aside from taking walks and playing toys, I’m the person that will have full blown conversations with your dog, share my food, and curl up on the couch to watch tv and snuggle them at night. My boyfriend is also very well acquainted with furry four leggers and is more than capable and willing to show them all the attention and affection they're deserving of. He helps me run the show and is a hound happiness specialist himself 🙂

Melinda took great care of our 14 year old border collie while we were out of town! She provided a daily update and photo, which my family looked very forward to as we all missed our pup. From first contact, Melinda was quick to respond to messages and provide feedback when requested. A dog isn’t “just a dog”, they are a family member. My dog was my baby, so I know it is a huge decision and very scary leaving them with someone that you don’t know. I follow your instructions and I never crate or isolate from other dogs, unless you request that I do so. I have a big house and a sizable, fenced in yard. Your dog will have free reign and quickly make themself right at home. I also know that you will most likely be on vacation, so I send pictures and updates as per your request.

I do keep multiple dogs from multiple families, so I need to know if your dog gets along with other dogs. I also have two grandchildren, aged 1 and 3, that visit. They are great with dogs, so I just need to know if your dog is good with kids. Other than that, just fill me in on meal times, potty schedule and anything else you consider pertinent.
A typical day
During the day, we’ll walk around the block and play in my yard. One of my bedrooms contains a couch, dog beds, toys, and potty pads. The mini blinds are always up so they can climb onto the couch and look out the windows day or night. I do not keep them in there, so it’s totally up to your dog if they venture in there, which all do at some point. It’s a great space for those that like alone time and also older dogs that sleep a lot. I might take your dog hiking or to visit a friend, but I will always get your permission first. At night, we’ll curl up together for Netflix and cuddles.

I work three days a week, so I’m home quite a bit, and when I'm not, my boyfriend typically is. Also, I work very close to home so I make at least one trip home while I’m at work.
