Hi, my name is Melanie and I am an experienced, Phoenix metro area based sitter. I have been a Rover sitter since 2015 and have recently moved back to the west valley after 2 years in school in Colorado. and have been able to re-establish and accommodate my regular furry friends...as I love the pups I keep, and develop strong bonds with them. I have a lifelong passion for dogs which has led me to my career as a sitter. Through the years, all of my pups have been rescues and/or fosters and my home will always have a canine companion (or two) My love of dogs inspires me to help owners reunite with their lost pets through social media. Caring for dogs is definitely my passion and I love the idea of offering a more attentive and loving alternative to a kennel. Dogs love us unconditionally and we should give back to them as much as possible. In the past I have been involved with an assistance dog non profit organization that provides individually trained assistance dogs to those in need (physically and/or emotional support)...its primary focus is on veterans and first responders. I live in a house with my Chihuahua , Salsa (10+ yrs).I am home full time so I can give your pup a lot of care and attention. Dogs have always been part of the family, they will be allowed on my furniture and bed while staying with me! We like to get up early and go for a walk around the neighborhood. I have a large fenced backyard for playtime and a roomy house for the pups to play or lounge about. Salsa is a sweet aging pup that is used to having multiple dog friends come sit with us! My sister and I also have a Central Phoenix Airbnb house and a Glendale Airbnb house that the pups and I often use as a staycation, playcation destination when not booked...especially in the hot summer months when the heat drives us indoors. The extra space gives the pups room to run and play in air conditioned bliss. During your dog's stay with me, I enjoy sending updates and photos so you know your special companion(s) is/are having a great time! I am also happy to follow any care instructions to make sure they keep to their regular routine! I am eager to hear from you and give your furbaby a loving, fun filled time!!

I would like to know your fur baby's temperament and how they do with other dogs. At this time my pup is on the older side of her life so it is more difficult for me to take HIGH ENERGY or bigger than medium size breeds.....especially now that the temperatures are starting to climb, which limits the ability to take them to the dog park. Although my profile indicates pups up to 15 lbs, I am more concerned with the SIZE of your pup than weight Whenever possible, I try to pair my boarders with pup friends of similar size/energy levels / age / temperaments, etc. to provide the best experience for the pups and their owners. My goal is to provide the happiest, most loving environment for our furbabies. They provide us with an unconditional loving bond, it is up to us to give them the same in return. I would also like to know if they have special needs (physical, dietary, medically, emotionally, etc.)so I can give them the best care.
A typical day
I am home full time and have a large, dog friendly backyard with a securely fenced yard so we can spend a lot of time outside in a safe protected environment. Dogs in my care are welcome to sleep on my furniture or bed. I do not kennel the dogs unless they are 'kennel trained' and view their kennels as their 'safe place' to rest...even then I leave the kennel open for them to come and go as they please.

I am retired so have plenty of time to give your fur baby plenty of time and attention The house is roomy so the pups have plenty of room to socialize or find a quiet space to 'chill'.
