Cavalier Camp!

Pet care experience

**PLEASE READ!** CavCamp is now located in Renton Washington. **We only accept Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and English Toy Spaniels.** We provide a premium specialized service that caters to this breed. My husband and I both love animals and are very happy to welcome guest Cavaliers into our dog friendly home. We cater to Cavaliers of all ages. We are experienced Cavalier owners and understand that this sweet breed needs special care and companionship and a gentle touch. We are very active in our Cavalier community and have many Cavalier friends that visit. Ricky and Rosie are our resident Cavies and love to host. All pups are treated with love and patience and will be safe and secure with us. Dogs must be trained to potty outside off leash in our fenced yard. We know puppies are still learning and require patience as they continue their potty training. Pawrents of male pups should plan on providing belly bands. Even perfect boy pups mark when living with other perfect boy pups. Disposable belly bands are available on Amazon. I'm happy to provide you a link. If you need me to pick up or drop off your pup that can be arranged for an additional cost that will be determined based on distance, travel time, and *time of day. *Pick-ups and drop-offs are available between 11am and 6pm only. AVAILABLE MOST HOLIDAYS!

Melanie was super helpful and took great care of our pup! She sent pictures and kept me informed. She gave me piece of mind that Winnie was in great hands while we were away. We will use Melanie again in the future for sure!

We are so grateful to Melanie! We had never boarded our cavalier pup and we were pretty nervous. Melanie took great care of our boy! We loved the daily pictures/Video updates. It set our minds at ease knowing that our pup was having a great time.

Melanie is just the best!! A treat for Cavalier parents and a joyful experience for the dog/pup as Melanie does everything possible to provide a comfortable and caring home away from home :)!! It was our first time leaving our Cavalier, Truffle, post the pandemic and Melanie ensured that we felt comfortable and Truffle had fun with other Cavaliers while we were gone. This is a paradise for Cavaliers as they get to spend time with other Cavaliers in a very comfortable living area with lots of toys, sofas, variety of sleeping options and a cozy fireplace. Melanie is very caring and thoughtful - she keeps in touch and shares lots of pictures and videos each day while you are out - this is such a treat for pet parents to know that their dog is having a great time. She is very quick in communication and flexible to match your schedules. She also sent Truffle and us back with a holiday gift when we picked him back after our vacation. I loved this experience and will be returning frequently to Melanie with Truffle - I am sure he made some great friends with her Cavaliers and her :) !! Thank you Melanie for taking such awesome care !!

Melanie and Jonathan took good care of my cavalier boy during our one week vacation. They sent a lot of daily pictures and videos to us throughout our trip. We can tell our little boy was having a wonderful staycation with them and their dogs. Will definitely recommend to all the cavalier parents, you don’t have many chances to send your cavs to a cav camp.

Information Melanie O. would like to know about your pet

I will need to know if your pup has food and treat restrictions, allergies, sensitivities. Is your pup house trained? Tell me the potty routine and key phrases and reward system. Please teach your pup to potty off leash outside as we cannot take pups out on leashed potty walks several times a day. Where does your dog normally spend the night? Fears, key words, likes, dislikes.

A typical day

While you're away, your pup will be part of the family pack. They will join the home crew in the daily routine. Mornings consist of potty time, breakfast, then potties again. After breakfast is playtime, and/or spending time with me on the sunny porch watching for neighbors and birds. Afternoons tend to be quiet as everyone settles down for a snooze and cuddles. After naps another trip out to potty and more social time until dinner. Then it's after dinner potties and settle in to snuggle with hoomans on the sofa until bedtime. At bedtime we do one last supervised potty trip outside then get tucked in for nightnights. We try to get walkies in sometime in the day when the weather is nice. *Note: we understand some pups are used to having food available all day. Obviously that doesn't work here as any food left out will be eaten by others. Don't worry, most pups adjust just fine to a mealtime routine.

I am home full time to supervise while your pup is with us. My husband works full time from a home office so he is also available to help supervise if I need to step out. *PLEASE No late night drop-offs or pick-ups as this is hard on guest pups and disruptive to our household. Please consider dropping your pup off the day before you travel. Travel day drop-offs tend to be hectic and stressful for humans and dogs. Drop-offs should be no later than 6pm. Pickups no later than 8pm. If you are flying please plan accordingly and keep me updated on your return flight status. Please be prepared to leave your pup with us an extra night if your flight is delayed.
