I am lucky enough to have years of experience working with dogs! Years working in doggie daycares has helped me develop my skills as a dog handler and understand how dogs interact with one another, while paying attention to how they communicate their needs and boundaries with other dogs and people. I have extensive knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and health, but I also have experience working with dogs with special behavioral needs, such as aggression or separation anxiety. I employ positive re-enforcement, while still able to assert myself as alpha and in control. I love working with dogs who may have quirks, and its important to me to spend time getting to know a dog so that both of us work well together! I am a student at Portland State with a flexible schedule. I can be available in the middle of the day for dog walks and potty breaks. I am also an experienced dog bather.

Melanie has been taking our puppy out on walks for a couple of weeks now and it has been great! She shows up on time and does her thing, then sends a nice report and photos. We have been so happy to have her as part of our puppy's routine and I think the puppy is pretty happy too!
Melanie is great! We have Melanie visit our 3 dogs and 2 cats twice every week. We always get pictures and relevant updates. When we had foster kittens, Melanie spent extra time feeding and playing with them as well. We highly recommend Melanie and have them on the books to continue to visit with our crew!
